BEWARE of greenGoat!!! I was initially very excited about the opportunity to purchase building materials from greenGoat. These items were being advertised on craigslist. I spoke with Amy Bauman, the Director of greenGoat, who assured me, several times, all of the materials she was advertising were donated to greenGoat and she was authorized to sell them at extremely discounted rates because they were donations.

We arranged a time to meet. Amy Bauman had other interested parties waiting to do a walk-through to purchase items, which made me a little weary about the transaction. However, I did a walk-through of the property where I “shopped” for all of the items I wanted to purchase. I was even more excited when I was done shopping because several of the items were materials that I needed for current projects that I was working on!! I paid Amy Bauman $2, 300 in cash and we signed a contract listing all of the materials I just purchased and that I could come back at a later date to pick-up the materials.

The following morning, I received an email from Amy Bauman saying that she could no longer sell the materials to me. I pleaded with her because I already had these materials lined up for my projects. She refused to give me the materials I purchased! I spoke with the police and they said it was a civil matter. Amy said “good luck suing a non-profit” and that it wouldn’t be worth getting an attorney because the fees would by higher than the amount of my transaction. She also said she has several attorneys that would represent her pro bono so not to bother pursuing the matter!!! Amy received higher offers for the materials and promised them to another buyer and backed-out of the deal for a higher profit for her so-called non-profit. Amy Bauman lied to my face and misled me! This is a warning to all who may be thinking of doing any business with greenGoat and Amy Bauman!!! THINK TWICE! YOU WILL BE LIED TO, MISLED, AND WILL BE SEVERELY DISAPPOINTED WITH THE OUTCOME!!
