On 02/24/2010 I took my dog to the groomer as always. The technician who already knew how is my dog, did her job, when I went to pick my dog up, my husband noticed that my dog’s right eye was red and that it was completely popped out with no movement at all, causing the dog to act in a strange manner.

At that moment the technician explained us that the dog was very nervous and that she could not finish the cut because of that. Also she told us that the dog eye popped out because the dog was so nervous and under a lot of stress, which we think is not true. According to the veterinarian, the breed of my dog which is Shih Tzu, has sensitive big eyes, but for an eye to completely pop out, it has to be because it was involved in a fight with another dog, or it was that probably when she was getting a haircut she moved and the force that they induce into her caused it. My dog was presented on ER which Dr. Katti Strahsmeier attended her and diagnosed a proptosed globe injury. Surgery had to be performed to put her eye back into its correct position and the eyelids were sutured closed to allow the eye and ophthalmic muscle to heal. She stayed overnight and at the next day was sent home with an anti-inflammatory, antibiotic, and ophthalmic solution to continue treatment at home.
