This morning, I received an e-mail announcing Grossinger's addition of the Hyundai brand. I find it very disheartening to receive a message about a new business line at Grossinger but never received any type of notice that the Volvo line was closing. I had a service appointment and found out when I arrived that the Volvo dealership 'shut down'.
I was referred to the Toyota division for my service needs and was told that they have no access to my vehicle's history due to incompatible computer system. They told me all previous work would be in Volvo's computer system.
As a result, I now have an appointment at Howard Orloff. Of course, they told me there is not Volvo computer system for them to access my car's history, but the customer service that I have already experienced with Orloff is far superior to any experience that I have ever had with Grossinger.
I understand the economic challenges facing the car industry, but ignoring your customers is not a good way to retain business. Personally, I will never refer anyone to Grossinger for ANYTHING.
