I have long noted that the Seafood standards of Whole Foods have fallen. Even more disappointing is to see the Meat Department failing as well. Whenever you buy Ground Turkey, Pork or Veal, be sure to use as fast as possible. If left in your fridge until sell by date it will be inedible and hazardous. I buy all ground meats the same day of use. I have been told that they have to stick to dates on the packaging even though they know it will be bad.
Today I bought Ground Beef and came home to make burger patties. I noticed very dark(black) specks in the meat. Closer examination showed it was ground up STYROFOAM!!! There is no way this should have happened by mistake. I can only see it happen when they grind up leftover pieces of beef and forget o remove the Styrofoam tray.
UNACCEPTABLE!! I'm taking the proof to the store tomorrow.
