Stay away from them
Yesterday I ordered flowers to be sent in a special container for an anniversary celebration of a dearfriend of mine. I ordered within their specified deadline timeframe for "same day delivery", which is stated on their website as follows: "U.S. orders must be received before 2:30 p.m. in the recipient's time zone to assure same-day delivery." I talked at length with the order taker on the telephone and at no time did she indicate there would be ANY possibility that these would NOT be delivered.

I attempted to call them late in the day to find out if the flowers had been delivered. No one answered the telephone despite their website stating their hours as follows: "Our shop is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year". I was unable to contact them at all that night.

I telephoned them this morning again (the next day) and spoke to Anna. I just found out (to my disappointment and shock!) when I called THEM, that THE FLOWERS WERE NEVER DELIVERED. I was NEVER TOLD the flowers were not delivered, or COULD NOT be delivered yesterday, yet they billed my credit card for $69.48!

When I asked why the flowers had not been delivered she gave me two vague reasons. One was that they simply "could not find anyone to do the floral delivery that day" and the other was that they were "still playing catch up from the Mother's day holiday" (which was 4 days earlier!) I ordered a STANDARD Teleflora item, nothing custom made! How long did it take for them to find out they "could not find anyone to deliver the flowers"??? But they felt justified in billing my credit card?

I voiced my displeasure to Anna at their ruining my surprise gift to my friends (and I hadn't sent an anniversary car BECAUSE I sent these flowers as a surprise!) Remember now, they claim to be open 24 hours and would deliver my order same day if placed before 2:30pm, which it WAS PLACED BEFORE that time. Her solution
was to give me a $5 discount on a $69.48 order!!! I expected more than that, out of courtesy if anything, since it was their mistake and they ruined my surprise completely. I suggested that they either waive the "$12.50 handlig and delivery fee" or offer a 50% discount on the flowers (basically a wholesale price which is probably what they paid, if even that). I felt justified in some sort of fair offer since they failed to uphold the claims they state on their website of same day delivery. Anna refused to offer any more than the $5. I asked to speak to a higher authority since Anna was unwilling to rectify the situation satisfactorily. She told me someone would call me back.

I waited for several hours and no one called so I telephoned them again. This time I got the owner on the phone (who happened to pick up) and this man was very unapologetic and even accused ME of "not taking responsibility" for my actions! He also told me I "should have ordered much earlier if the occasion meant so much" to me! I was shocked at his statements to me. I told him I just found out about the anniversary occasion when I ordered, this is a fairly new friend. I should not have to explain any of this to a company who failed to deliver the flowers as promised in the first place!

Finally the owner is heard, reading out loud into the phone, the notes Anna had obviously written about my requests. He immediately then states "I have entered your credit card into our system so that you will be unable to order from us any longer" and with that he hung up on me!

I am amazed people like this can stay in business! Rude is an understatement, and extremely unprofessional and insulting is more the case here. If you can't deliver the flowers then don't claim you can. Can you imagine a nation-wide delivery service not being able to find someone to deliver the flowers and then not letting you know in time? Here is their description of their business policy, which far from the truth in MY recent experience with this unreliable company:
FlowerShopping.com is a full service florist that has specialized in nation wide delivery since 1910. We are family owned and operated, and are committed to offering only the finest floral arrangements and gifts, backed by service that is friendly and prompt. Because all of our customers are important, our professional staff is dedicated to making your experience a pleasant one. That is why we always go the extra mile to make your floral gift perfect.

I guess they not only didn't go "the extra mile" for me but didn't even bother to go "a few miles" to get my flower gift delivered!!! "Friendly and prompt" certainly wasn't the case here either. It is very obvious here they do not care about satisfied customers or repeat business or pleasant transactions. I don't care how log they claim to be in business, there is no excuse for this type of behavior.

Stay away from this one or you will surely be disappointed with a special occasion ruined!
