protection policy scam
We purchased the Guardsman protection plan with our new sofa. 6 months after purchase, the spring under one of the cusions started to get weak (over about a month, we noticed the cusion gradually sinking down), a nail also protruded from the back (which I sliced my hand on when adjusting the cushion). When we made the claim, we were asked when we noticed the problem. We stated that it was gradual - over the period of about a month. We were told that they would not process the claim unless we called within the first 5 days of the problem. BUYERS BEWARE - it is heartbreaking to know that we should have LIED about when we noticed the problem in order to have had it fixed.

Bad service
Denied, denied, denied... do not waste your time or money...
my impression is guardsman protection is not a company but a scam...
5 year protection plan and have benn denied twice, refuse to honor the contract... i'm going to sue them in the civil court... i am just one of a thousand complaints lodged...filled out proper paper work both times
and had to speak to some 12 year old who refuses to honor the paid for contract...i am going to start a pettition to put this scam company out of business, DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY...

Service request
Contacted Guardsman to repair a table under warranty...gave them everything. Reciept from two years ago, paperwork from the table. Was asked what the damage was before they denied me saying I did not get it to them within 5 business days of the occurance...WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE? It's broke was broken 30 days ago and is under warranty. Don't get furniture protection. It is a scam!!!

Claim Denied
Bought a 5 yr. prot. plan for new couch in Feb. 2005. Stitching has come undone in cushion on which your back rests. Placed claim today 2-4-09 and they denied it, stitching is not covered.
Went to Jerome's for help, they basically told me I was SOL, despite me acting like a customer first with a 'sales guy' and when I questioned him on if the warranty covered stitching, he asked a co-worker who said it was. Find out neither one of them knew what they were talking about and we are really SOL! It coveres TEARS, not stitching coming undone...that apparently is a manf. defect for the first year only.
We have a couch that is literally coming apart at the seams from normal every day use and a 5 yr. plan that does us absolutely NO GOOD!
