On October 24th we purchased a Guitar Hero World Tour for a PS2. When we opened the package but before using it, I called BB to ask if I would be able to return it even if it had been used. Best Buys response, not only once but twice, YES. As long as you have the receipt and warranty (insurance I purchased)and return it within 30 or in our case 45 days. Well knowing that the GH PS2 was not compatible with PS3 we actually decided to return it and try to purchase the PS3 GH, however they don't carry the kit, so I just purchased one online at Toysrus.com and decided to return this one back to Best Buy since I was informed I could. On November 3rd, I went to Best Buy to return this product and was given several reason as to why I couldnt return it: 1). It was TOO USED to be able to resell 2). I packaged the wrong items inside the box...apparently the drums say PS3 so they accused me of returning something different which bothered me because that is the one that I want 3). On the back of my receipt it says I cannot return this product...it says video games not game consoles. After arguing with Mohammad (the first manager who helped when I was at the store and said he has been there for 12 years and has never seen this and said I packaged something else and was NOT willing to understand me as a customer)he advised me to call their 1-800 Best Buy and I spoke to Levita as soon as I walked out the store who I thought would help me but then I realized that all they do is call the store and say sorry maam but this is what the store manager, (now this was not what Mohammad said), this was Brian who had NOT even seen the package and said it was TOO USED. That same evening I called the store back and asked that another manager call me and no one has since. The next day Nov 4th, I called and spoke to Eleana another store manager around 10am or so and explained my situation to her and she was already aware of my situation and told me the same thing that I was not ablet to return it but this time it was another reason, she CLAIMED the serial numbers did not match. I said no one checked the serial numbers when I was at the store and how can you be accusing me of returning items that I purchased in that box and all I want to do is get what I purchased. I then said ok Eleana then give me what I purchased, the fact that the manufacturer packaged something incorrectly is not the customers fault. She said sorry maam. I told her but I have a warranty for two years that I purhased from your store, she said, we will be glad to refund you the money for the warranty but we will not take the GH PS2. At that point I got frustrated and called several other stores and I was clearly informed that I was able to return the product even if it had BEEN USED, as long as I had the receipt with the receipt.
How can I trust that I will be able to buy something from them. I will no longer purchase from Best Buy for their customer service and the way I felt treated.
