I had a purchased a bus ticket at approximately 5:30 pm on 06/27/2010 from Gulf Express. I specifically needed to purchases a bus ticket that went to Wall Street New York. I asked two employees working at the time and they said that the $13.50 zone 12 ticket I purchased was sufficient to take me to Wall Street. The employee said it would, but I insisted that I clarified that the ticket was NOT for Port Authority New York, but for Wall Street. The employee confirmed that I will purchasing the correct ticket.
As I attempted to use the ticket, the bus driver told me I had the incorrect ticket.
I went back to Gulf Express to request a refund for the incorrect that they sold me around 7:00 pm on 07/04/2010, but the employee working at the time said that he did not sell me the ticket and he could not refund me back the $13.50 because it did not match the ticket number that was sold at the store. In addition, he also told me that he could not refund me the ticket because he didn't sell me the ticket. He told me to come back the next morning, but I told him I was unable to because I am not coming back to the area anytime soon. I asked if there was a number or a manager i can speak to, and he refused to provide with me both and said just to come back. He then said he needed to serve the other customers behind me. After several minutes of allowing him to assist the other customers, he gave me back my ticket and said he could not help me.
He then inquired when was sold the ticket I said that it was approximately this time last week. The man said that it was not possible because he was working that time last week and he doesn't remembered selling me the ticket and that I because I had an attitude he did not want to help me.
I am infuriated that this business was allowed to sell me an incorrect ticket, but refused to take any ownership for making the mistake. Furthermore, he questioned my integrity implying that I was lying about the purchase of the ticket.
I hope something can be done about this situation.
