stole money
I stopped going to gymboree in Dec 2010 as I was pregnant. Everyone at gymboree knew I was pregnant, I received a phone call from one of the teachers asking why i wasnt there, told margaret that i was giving birth soon and I would no longer be back. I was not told of any cancellation that i had to make. Common sense would prevail if there was something that needed to be done to ensure that i am not further charged i should have been told. January comes and I am charged another $110, mind you i have not been there in over a month. I have been calling to speak to Erin and no one has called me back. I emailed as well with no response.I have called the customer service number and supposibly they have been sending information over to the franchise and have has no call back since.Gymboree took money that they have no right to, nor was I informed of any such policy. I no longer like this place, all i want now is my money back and the courtesy of a phone call from the owner as i originally requested. Bad customer service and bad treatment along with word of mouth a business will not last very long. I will be expressing my displeasure to other mothers so they don't go through what I did with this lousy place.

that's what I think

Gymboree Bucks are a rip off!
I too, had the same thing happen as 'Gymboree Bucks are a rip off!'. I returned things to gymboree after using my gymbucks, and they didn't explain how it divides the gymbucks up. I even told the associate that I might have to return the last two items. The other items were worth enough to use the gymbucks, so I could have bought the two items separately.
I filed a complaint and they just sent me a generic email response. I responded and received another generic email response.
I will no longer shop there and highly discourage anyone else. It's simply called good customer service.

Gymboree Bucks are a rip off!
I had accumulated a number of Gymboree bucks and then used them at the appropriate time and spent well over the amount required to cash them in. After getting home and having my daughter try on the bathing suit it didn't fit properly so I went back to the store to return the suit, that was when I found out they don't actually give you the $25 for every $50 spent they divide it among all items purchased so if you return and item they said I either had to buy another item or forfeit the money - I chose to forfeit and won't be shopping there again.
Let me explain how Gymboree bucks really work, according to the store manager at Fair Oaks Mall. They don't just take $25 off your total purchase they divide the $25 among the items purchased so if you return one they can't apply the discount the rest of the purchase even if you spent over the $50. So I had $50 in Gymboree bucks and spent well over $100, I returned a bathing suit and was still over the $100 threshhold, but they would not apply the discount to the remaining items in my purchase and insisted I had to buy something else in order to still receive that discount. The money wasn't that much as it was divided among all items, but that is not the point.
The point is Gymboree is STEALING from their customers with FALSE ADVERTISING on their Gymboree bucks. Yes it's shocking a big company would steal from their customers but it's true. My total discount no matter what should have been $50 (as I spent over the required thershhold) but not according to Gymboree once I returned the item I forfeit that amount unless something else was purchased, I didn't want anything else. And a little $ here and a little $ here adds up for Gymboree. I can't imagine I'm the only person this has happened too. Needless to say for the little $ they stole from me will cost them a whole lot more in lost purchases from me and definitely benefit their competitors. I just wanted others to be aware of the SHADY dealings of Gymboree.

Gymbucks
Gymbucks suck . They are not a good deal. Be sure you KNOW the items will fit and you really want them because you can not return items bought with gymbucks. If you think about it they are a rip off

Bad service
After shopping and leaving Children's Place in the same shopping center, I proceeded to continue shopping at Gymboree. While there, my toddler was in an urgent need to use their facilities. Unfortunatly they did not allow her to use it, so she soiled her panties. While at Children's Place she had already used the facilities without any problems. She was recently toilet trained and is proud of not wetting or soiling her panties.Incident was unfortunate and traumatic for her. When I asked why using the restroom was not allowed, I was told that they have stock merchandise back there and other equipment. I responded that Children's Place a few doors down has the same setup in the back and has no problem accommodating their young customers. Ashley the store employee just shrugged her shoulders and that was that. I proceeded to pay for my items and advise her that this would be my last purchase at any Gymboree company store.
