incorrect tax return
I have had my taxes done for years at H & R Block. This year I went to a tax professional. After he reviewed my last years taxes, he found that H & R Block did not give me earned income credit for my daughter. Their mistake cost me over $3, 000! After looking at my previous taxes, he discovered they have never given me the earned income credit for her. I am now owed the wopping total of close to $10, 000 from the IRS. I called the local H & R Block and the "manager" told me sorry, their system is down from all the tax returns they are preparing and to call him tomarrow morning. This is total inexcusable! I can only refile back to 2007. How do I go about getting all the money that is owed me?

Tax Mistake
I had H & R Block do my taxes for a few years. In 08 a different lady did my taxes. I had a reclassification of a ROTH IRA, I said that numerious times. I got a notice from the IRS that I owed $4500.00 due within 60 days. I called H & R Block and they said that was too far back and Just pay it. I had to talk to the lady at IRS and she took care of it without the help of H & R Block. It cost me 264.00 to have my taxes done incorectly and when confronted with the mistake they would not help!
Thanks H & R Block
You can bet I'll be giving you more money

Improper calculations on tax return.
H & R BLOCK had an error in their software for 2009 tax year, and as a result, I owe the government almost $2000 (that's right TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS!). They refuse to help me with this payment caused by the error in their software. They have left me TWISTING IN THE WIND. The following is their response.
"H&R Block Heidi ~ As the taxpayer you are responsible for tax liabilities owed to the IRS. Had this discrepancy not existed in the product originally, you would have owed these taxes at the time you completed your taxes. We apologize, but H&R Block cannot pay your taxes for you. Therefore, pursuant to limitations set forth in the End User License Agreement that you agreed to be bound by when you used the product, we are not at liberty to provide payment of the tax liability. We regret that we are unable to take on this liability for you. However, our standard Accurate Calculations Guarantee will cover payment of any interest you may be assessed from the IRS due to the miscalculation. You will need to follow the instructions in the letter that you received in order to be reimbursed for any interest payments. Contact the tax professional who completed your amendment for options on making payments to the IRS." ~Jeremy

Careless
We had received the 8, 000 FHB credit this year. For one thing when we did our taxes HnR block did't know anything about how to file the FHB credit. They had to look it up. So we gave them all the info they needed to send it off. A week later we picked up a sealed envolope handed to us by the owner and were told ur all set. We sent it off expecting our refund in April. Oh boy did we get a huge shock. The IRS sent it all back due to the lack of the 5405 form. I went to HnR block and they agreed that they didn't put the form in the packet of things sent to the IRS and it was their fault. So now when talking to the IRS they say it will be August until we get the refund. Can't wait that long for our payment when it would have been here in april if it wasn't for them being so careless . Due to my husband working in construction money isn't always dependable. We are in serious harm of loosing out home and im in need of medical care and im unable to pay the many co-pays. Im in need of an eye exam every year and i need new contacts and glasses. Without them im legally blind.
What part of this does HnR have to be accountable for? According to them NOTHING. I did receive a 75 coupon for our next visit. That dosn't cut it. It wasn't our fault. They should have made sure the form was in there. BEWARE...

not filing the correct papers
We were able to file the first time homebuyers credit due to buying our first house in November. When we went to do our taxes they had no clue how to do the FHB credit. THe owner had to go look it up and came back with a list of things we needed to send off to the irs. We returned a week later ( Feb 10) with all of the documents we needed. The owner went back and copied off the documents and put them in a envolope and sealed it and said ur all set. We sent it off expecting our refund in april. Boy were we in for a huge suprise. April rolled around and we got all of the forms and documents sent back to us saying we were mising the form 5404 which was the main form. We went to H&R and they told us that the printer didn't print out the 5404. SO she got the right formas and we sent it off. Now its going to be August before we get the refund.
It wasn't our fault and all H&R can do is give us a 75 coupon on our next visit. Due to my husbands job doing construction and i am unable to get a job due to a car wreck we are broke and late on our house payment. Im legally blind and need to get new glasses and contacts but are unable to because were broke. My husband and i need dental work. People need to beware of there bad work. IF it wasn't for their mistake we would have received it back in April. Now what? We loose the house that we got the credit on and have to pay back the irs because we have to own the house for 3 years. BE VERY AWARE OF H & R BLOCK AND THEIR CRAPY WORK...

No knowledge
My husband and I filled this year tax return with H&R Block. The person who claimed to be an expert on first time home buyers, had to ask many questions to his coworkers while filing our tax return, clearly he had no idea of what he was doing.
We filed on February 13th, and we got a letter from IRS saying we were missing some documents. Why did we pay 300$ to H&R blocks? Bad service, they made ton of mistakes, and now is May 20th and we havent gotten our tax return.
Dont waist your money on H&R block, do it yuorself or go somewhere else.

No E-File
I Recently filed my taxes at H & R Block like I do every year. Well I had two W-2's this year. I had two because my company was bought out by another company, that company is in Canada. When she was doing my taxes, she said that I couldn't E-File because one of my W-2's was International. I accepted, not knowing otherwise. I went to work that same day to let everyone know that this would happen. Everyone else at my work did their taxes and processed through E-File. There is a certain number you type in for International addresses. GREAT! Now I get to sit and wait for 8 weeks to mail in my return and wait for them to process it. It has now been 4 weeks and every time I go to check my status online, they say "Sorry, your request could not be processed." I thought about calling to complain to my Tax preparer but what's the use? All they would say is sorry there is nothing I can do now. Awesome, I just wasted $280 filing when now I have to wait because the "TAX PROFESSIONALS" don't know how to file and international W-2. That's what grinds my gears, next year, H & R Block lost this customer.

False Advertisement
My daughter went to H&R Block to have their taxes prepared. Beforehand they assured her they had Rapid Refund and it would cost no more than $150 to prepare a short form and get the refund same day or next day at the latest. She was not informed beforehand that getting a quick refund was based on their credit rating and she was also charged $300 to prepare the form. Needless to say, they did not get the refund the same day and were grossly overcharged considering they didn't itemize.

a rushed process
I just had my income taxes filed today 1-29-10. The whole experience was bad! I had an appointment @ 8pm. Didn't get seen until 9. Well my husband was getting his done and I was next with the same person who was filing his. It had gotten later and everyone was leaving but us and our prepairer. Its now past 10 o'clock so I decided to get a lady by the name of Edith Davila to go ahead and file mine. We get started and I realized she was flying right though it. I was asking questions about my work uniforms(I'm in the medical field). She says it's not gonna make a difference. I also asked her about a theft from my truck.I have a police report. She says it has to be a self-employed vehicle. Another was my medical expenses and she replied, oh, thats right she ignored it! I told her repeatedly to cancel and it was sent anyways.

"phony" refund check
I had my taxes done at H & R Block and was told I will be getting a refund check in the mail. I waited for 7 days and told I had to wait another 7 to 14 days. Finally, my check was ready to pick up, but when I went into the office, I was told there is a problem with the check, but the employee still signed the check and gave it to me. I took the check to my bank and cashed it. Now, when my bank tried to collect their payment on the check, they were told there is "no account on file." The refund check was drawn from HSBC bank. Now I am in the "red" with my checking account at my bank. I went to H&R Block, but the employee keeps telling me that he will check on it, but in the meantime I am "overdrawn" at the bank and I am being charged overdrawn fees. My bank says that it is not my fault, but I am being charged fees in the meantime. My bank tried to research on this "phony" refund check, but they were told it is none of their business. I am in the middle of this situation and what am I supposed to do. I feel like I am being "ignored" and discriminated against due to my race. Will I ever get another refund check to cover for their "phony" check, since it is my refund check.
