I am a chiropractor and made the mistake of taking a personal injury case (one that they referred to me) on a lien basis with Habbas, Nasseri & Associates law firm .
The case is a straight-forward personal injury case with a single claimant, substantial property damage and medical bills, and no question of the at-fault party (according to Habbas Nasseri law firm). Their client was released many months ago from treatment, and this law firm has yet to pay their client's bill.
They do not have the professional courtesy to provide meaningful and timely updates to the case. I am forced to call them, and have been very patient, calling only once a month for 3-4 months. When I speak to the paralegal, I get the same explanation month after month, with no change in status. They basically are ducking me. I am getting the impression that they are letting the case drag out, and plan to ask me for a bill reduction some time in the future in order to settle. I suspect that they have settled this claim months ago based on their sneaky behavior (note, this is my strong belief only).
I can't believe that a law firm can stay in business by being this incompetent, so I'm assuming that there is another, far worse reason for their foot-dragging and shenanigans. A good personal injury attorney would have settled this particular case months ago!
I would never accept a case again on a lien with Habbas Nasseri & Associates. They simply do not like paying doctors their bills, from my experience. They leave me no choice but to sue their client in small claims court, which I am preparing for in order to have my bill paid.
