Today ( 02/02/11), we ( me & my daughter) tried to hair cut at neighbourhood hair saloon .We didn't asked the cost before we cut, but we understand that hair cutting at neighbourhood shops are not more than $ 15 ( Adult ), $ ^~ $7 ( Primary student )for each person .Then, we finished cutting, they charged as $ 40 ( Adult : $ 26 & $ 14 for child ) for both just upon only hair cutting even it was not done for hair blowing .They said, today they charged double because of CNY, acutally CNY ( Chinese New Year ) is not reaching yet, the time is just before 1pm of CNY eve .Other shops are also still open until half-day and most companies & shops are opening till half-day at CNY eve in Singapore. Then, i noticed one point is that they asked me i came from which country, whether i can speak Mandrain, whether my hubby is Chinese or what and how long i have been in SG, so & so . So, i feel that they cheated me and believe they won't charge this cost on other Chinese and Malay customers because my husband went back there and asked them about costs, they bullied as they don't know very well English and rushed to close their shop door . Finally, i noted that Singapore is become same as China if you cannot speak Mandrain, our life is not safe even cutting hair .They see people and ready to cheat if they know you don't understand very well Malay or Chinese .
