overdraft fees
Hancock Bank will try to get every wrong earned dime they can from you. They recently charged me with $261.00 in fees. My husband works offshore and he usually handles all the bills with his account, We have 2 seperate accounts. I had no contact with him and was responsible for getting the bills paid. I paid one bill with my account that was supposed to get paid from his so my money was a little shorter than normal. From October 9-11th I made small purchases at gas stations and what not that were $2-$6 in total. On the 12th of October I made a purchase at Wal-Mart for $118.00. Hancock Bank ran my $118.00 through first and then ran the 9 items ranging $2-$6 last even though that was not the order in which I used them. Then they charged me a $29.00 fee on each small item that went through!!! $261.00!! I understand I owe one fee of $29.00 because the wal-mart charge would have been over what I had at the time but I should not have to pay for the other charges, which when I spent the money I had it... I have already talked to 6 different people and they have been rude like you wouldn't believe.. I am so fed up with them. I will definately be taking this further.. I have already contacted a news crew to do a story about it. This should be very interesting since I already have about 20 people wanting to tell their horror stories of banking with Hancock Bank. The money was not rightfully theirs and it would have done them so much better to just put it back in my account. I have 2 small children and bills that have to be paid.. Come explain to my kids they can't have something because these people took our money!! Makes me so upset. I will get it back. I am taking this as far as I have to to make sure of it. I have infact, already contacted my lawyer who will further assist me from here. You will regret treating your customers like this.. Get ready for the media and bad reps!!!

Bad Service and Misleading
I have been doing business with this bank for about 20 years now and have had a "decent" relationship with them. They have in the past been very good until I ran into this "new manager". He asked if we do e-banking and I said no. He asked if we were interested and I told yes but I have been having issues with his merchant account raising my rates. I process cc with them and I was in the process of looking elsewhere because they keep on raising the rates and not keeping their end of the contract. Well, this manager told me that he will get with the merchant account and straighten everything up for me. Sure enough, I got a call from the merchant account within a few days to "try" to resolve the issues. They scheduled a time to come out to go over the rates and get some better rates. In the meantime, the manager came by with a stack of documents for me to sign to get me e-banking. I was suspicious about some of the documents because it was asking for all other information such as tax payments, federal payments, income payments, etc. I took the documents and told him I would look over it and have it sign when he came back. I never signed it because it was actually to get me enrolled in all these other services that I DID NOT want. When I asked the manager about these other documents, he told me that's its procedures. What a bunch of BS when clearly this man was trying to mislead me into a contract that was not clearly explained. Now, remember the merchant account that I was supposed to meet to get my rates squared out... well, he never showed up or called to explain why he's not coming. I tried calling him and only get the voice mail and never a call back. I do suspect that this manager had something to do with him not coming to "take care of their customer" who have been with them for over 20 years now. I am now looking to other banks but these days, I don't have any faith in any banks. They are not trustworthy nor do they have any integrity.

Unauthorized charge!
I don't know who u guys are but i have $39.95 taking by you and i am mad as hell. If u know whats best u will returned it as soon as possible. I never even heard of this company. I am a single mother with 3 kids and i don't have time for you all to fraud my money out of my account. How did you get my account number please explain. I am going to be waiting on a response. If i don't hear from yall in 24 hr. U will be hearing from my lawyer. This is not a threat this is a promise. Have a bless day!!!
