Rip Off Company SCAM!!!
STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY AND THEIR "ENTICING OFFERS". THEY ARE ALL A SCAM!

THEIR GUARANTEE IS TOTALLY WORTHLESS! THEY WILL CONTINUE TO SEND YOU BILLS AND HAVE THEIR COLLECTION AGENCY HASSLE YOU INTO PAYING WHEN YOU HAVE A $0.00 balance!

IF YOU HAVE BEEN SUCKERED INTO THIS CLUB, AND YOU ARE RECEIVING BOOKS EVEN THOUGH YOU HAVE CANCELLED YOUR MEMBERSHIP... DO NOT USE THE POSTAGE PAID ADDRESS STICKER. PAY FOR THE SHIPPING AND SHIP IT CERTIFIED WITH DELIVERY CONFIRMATION, SO YOU HAVE PROOF THEY HAVE RECEIVED THE BOOK. OTHERWISE, YOU WILL RECEIVE BILLS FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE AND HARASSING PHONE CALLS.

AGAIN, STAY AWAY FROM HANDYMAN CLUB OF AMERICA - THEY ARE A NUMBER ONE SCAM!!!

unauthorized membership
Just received a "second reminder" for an invoice that states we are late for our payment to the Handyman Club of America...a club that not only did we never join but this is the same company and the same problem we had a few years back. Took forever to track down contact information to straighten it out. I told them at the time that I never wanted anything sent to us again.

Junk Mail
I purchased a lifetime membership with Handyman Club of America. They said I would be able to test products and keep the product. I have yet to receive a single product to test.. Instead, I get junk mail from all kinds of "CLUBS" wanting me to join, everything from gardening, fishing, and other handyman clubs. It is apparent that Handyman Club of America sold my information. This is NOT what I joined for.

Dishonest company
On 03/04/08.all they sent me was a demand that I buy books at $10.00 each..I told them i was not interested in the books and to send me my refund. Nothing happened.. On 06/10/08 I sent Kate Pope a letter to cancel my membership and send me a refund. Nothing happened. This is not an honest company!

Mail Fraud
Dear Friends of Mine,
I clearly became a victim of fraud form the "Handymen Club of America". In an envelope labeled "Free gift inside" they sent me an unsolicited junk calendar for 2009 (you know, the type that companies usually send you for free). When I opened the envelope, in it were the calendar, a few junk sticker and an invoice for $21.99 ($16.99 for the calendar and $4.99 S+H). The stickers were "the free gift!!". Although I immediately returned the whole junk they kept resending the invoice every month since, telling me that I "kept" the product. When I tried to connect them on the phone to clear the issue, I was redirected and redirected and redirected to other and other clerks, who did not know anything and did not have any power to solve the issue. Finally the sent me a "Delinquency notice" frightening me that they will transfer my case to a debt collector, which could ruin my otherwise great credit scores.
I have every record in my file, sent them a registered letter of complain, submitted a complain to the Better Business Bureau, and to the office of the Governor of Minnesota, posted my issue on the Web (ComplaintsBoard.com, ISE-and-IS.org). Since I know, many of you are handyman and may as well be a member of this club, I am pasting this note on my Face Book Wall and again on the CompalintsBorad.com to find out whether any of you have experienced exactly the same misconduct from the same company. If you had, give me a shut of your case. In any way, I am considering a lawsuit against the Handymen Club of America. Once I see how many similar complaints I can collect from you, I might as well consider to go with a class action version. Dr Z Fulop

test and keep what????!!!!
I joined the Handyman Club of America as a lifetime member (over $300.00 paid!) with the promise of being a product tester. I was promised that I would be able to test and keep new products free. That is one great big fat lie! This company is all about their own gain, they do nothing for their members except lie to them. Do not join this club!

unauthorized membership billing
My 81-year old aunt received a "dues invoice" from Handyman Club of America for $24 stating YOUR PAYMENT IS PAST DUE. It said "Thank you for activating you membership." There is no contact number on the invoice, nor on their website. Fortunately I found it on your website and called them. I was told that the membership had been activated online. My aunt does not even have a computer!

Unfortunately my aunt has been the victim of several scams in the past and now seems to be on a "sucker list." She gets literally hundreds of "offers" in the mail and it is virtually impossible to stop this avalanch of solicitations from predators.
