Broken Recliner Sofa
I purchased a leather recliner sofa from Hanks 6 months ago - one recliner is broken and the color is fading out on the center section.
I first reported this three months ago. It is not fixed as of today.

Rude and Disgusting
We spent well over $4, 000 in the store located on Central in Hot Springs, Arkansas. When the furniture was delivered on Oct. 23rd, we received the wrong side buffet table. When I called the store, they said there was a mix up on skew numbers but would order the one we paid for and get it out to us right away. Sara, called and said it was in and that Bob would be delivering it. I asked her if it was the floor model and could not get a response. She just kept saying that Bob would take care of it. When Sara called and said Bob would be there in 30 minutes, I told her to tell Bob not to bring out the floor model, as I had already seen the shape it was in at the store. Again she would not respond. I asked her twice more, point blank, "Is it the floor model?" Again I could not get her to answer a simple yes or no. When Bob arrived he had the glass buffet table in the back of his truck, only covered with a blanket. It was him and his wife that delivered it. Very Unprofessional!!! I asked him point blank if this was the floor model and he would not answer me. As he took the other one to his truck, I noticed the chunk out of the back leg, drawers messed up and scratches on the sides. Bob took off after loading the other table. I called Sara and explained to her that I was deceived and did they think we were stupid. She said I would have to talk to Bob, which he would not be in until the next day. I told her that she was unprofessional by evading and essentially tell us a bald face lie. She hung up on me. My sisters, mother-in-law went to the store that eveing and talked to Jesse the store Manager. The discussion got real heated when he said that they no longer make that model and haven't for a while. It is a real shame that the store tried to push off a damaged piece of furniture that full price was paid for. My sister did get loud with Jesse and he got in her face and yelled at her. He then tried to throw her out of the store. She also paid for the furniture. He told her that he was a military man as a threat and that was soooo unprofessional of him. He said we can not go any higher with our complaint because he is store manager and there is no one above him.
I have never in all my years seen such rudeness and disrespect from a furniture store. After spending over $4, 000 in your store and to be treated like that is disgusting.
They were rude, lied, and was disrespectful.

Furniture amount Due
I bought a couch from hanks fine Furniture in harrison, AR. a few weeks ago. My husband and I did the 9-day layaway plan. We payed 300 down. The next week I went in and paid the other 300. My salesperson said that they had new computer software in and that it wasn't going in the system that I had paid the total amount due so he scratched out the number on my receipt and wrote 0.00 to show that I had paid for it. Well, when my couch came in, the computer still hadn't shown that I had paid for it, but I showed him my receipt and he remembered. So he loaded up my couch for me. (NOTE that they will not load your couch unless it has beem completely paid for with the lawaway plan) Well, its been about 3 weeks Since I recieved my couch and I got a call today form hanks fine furniture. The man on the phone proceeded to tell me that I owed them 300. I kindly told him that I had paid that amount and that my salesperson had to handwrite me a receipt because When i came in the software was messed up. He said, "well, in my computer it has you as oweing 300 and home office tacks all of that and they don't mess something like that up and they don't have their money for that sofa and that I needed to pay for it." I asked him if I could talk to the person that Sold me the couch and he said that he didnt work there anymore. So I asked him for home offices number and told him I would contact them. In a very rude way, he said, "well that would be perrrrfect" So I told my mom about the incident and she decided to give hanks a little call. She let him have it. She then told him that she could fax him the receipt which, indeed had his name on it as well as my salespersons name. He then told her he would try to figure things out. IT is pretty dang sad that even if you have a receipt of sales, that it doesn't seem to matter anymore. It apparently has no worth and is no form of proof anymore. And the way this idiot called me and ACCUSED me of taking a couch without paying for it just bewilders me! Especially because of the fact that THEY load you up, THEY check before they load you up to make sure you have paid. I will NEVER be going there again. And if they have an employee STEALING their money they need to get their shit straight and find the person instead of Accusing customers of not paying.

Bad furniture Remedy
Join me in calling the Arkansas Attorney General's office 501-682-2007 They will connect you to the consumer protection agency. You will receive in the mail a complaint form fill it out with every thing you have from hanks furniture. I have in writing that they would send someone to fix my furniture and never did. I have been trying to figure out how or whom to contact when I read 1 complaint and the man said he had a recording and was going to bring to the attention of the Attorney General. The state will send an inspector to perform audits on their paperwork I know I am an inspector myself and I perform audits on a daily basis. I can not do this alone join me in bringing down this fraudulent company all it takes is a phone call and filling out a complaint form. LETS SCREW HANKS FINE FURNITURE AS THEY HAVE DONE TO SO MANY PEOPLE.

Bad Products
My wife and I bought a couch with bed, Loveseat with recliners, kitchen Table with chairs, and an ottomon. We did not have the entire ensamble for more than 4 months when the couch bed would not open found out there was a board that broke. Also my wife inadvertently had 2 burn spots from the fireplace the furniture had burn proof chemicals applied at additional cost. We bought the furniture in joplin MO. When we explained what happened to the manager he informed us that the cusions would be replaced and the couch would be repaired we waited 4 weeks and no repair man had showed up we called once a month for 3 months and still no repairman or new cushions. We were informed upon visiting the store that the manager who sold us the furniture had been fired and the Joplin Mo store was being closed and relocated to the main store in Little Rock Arkansas. For the next 6 months my wife tried to get the cushions and a repairman to come to our house and fix the furniture finally we recieved the new cushions for the couch but they were a darker color than the original cushions. The Love seat requires that a repairman would have to install cushions and the couch required a repairman. To no prevail we have not seen or can not get ahold of anyone at Hanks Fine Furniture just an answer machine. Our furniture has an extended warranty but Hanks furniture still has not sent a repairman to fix our furniture. We spent close to $3, 000 dollars for the furniture and would expect that this sum of money would at the very least receive a return call. this establishment is what is wrong with america today no one will stand by their product or word. My advice to anyone thinking of buying furniture is to buy from anyone but Hanks Fine Furniture.

Crappy store
On 3/20/2010 I purchasesd a recliner from Hanks in Little Rock AR. It was a display model and the one in the Little Rock store was already sold but there was one in the Jonesboro AR store (approximately 2 hrs away). The salesperson said trucks run between the stores each week and our chair (we paid for it on 3/20) would be in Little Rock in 7 - 10 days. On 3/31/2010 I called the LittleRock store and they advises the chair was in transit. On 4/3/2010 I called the store again to see if the chair was in; same story..."in transit". I immediately called the Jonesboro store and the assistant manager said he loaded the chair himself on the previous day and it would be in Little Rock on 4/6/2010 ( a long wait for a 2 hr trip). Warehouse closed on 4/5; no chair on 4/6. On 4/7/2010 I called and was told the chair had finally made the 2 hour trip! I went to the warehouse and the worker put the wrapped up chair in the back of my SUV (it was raining and I did not unwrapthe chair at the warehouse). When I got home and opened up the SUV I was shocked to see a sticker price about $500 under what I had paid for the chair. My wife looked at the chair and said it was the wrong chair; the SKU did not match. I took the chair back to the Little Rock store and found out that the Jonesboro dude loaded the WRONG CHAIR!!! I called Hanks HQ and was told to deal with it that mistakes happens. The Little Rock store manager verified that the chair I bought was actually in the Joneboro store and upon finding out it was there promised me that it would go on the truck from Jonesboro 4/9/2010 and be in Little Rock on 4/10/2010. I won't hold my breath. On 4/8/2010 the salesperson that sold me the chair called and said my chair was in (she had no clue what happened the day before). This is my second and last purchase from this crappy store.

Rotten thieving bastards
My wife had made a purchase of 3 beds at Hanks and More in N. Little Rock.
We paid for delivery and setup. The beds arrived on time but they beat up the walls when they took them upstairs. Hanks was informed and asked for pictures.
We sent pictures and had multiple conversations. Nothing was done about it and I grew weary and repaired the walls myself. A year later the oldest daughters bed collapsed in the night. Upon inspection they had assembled it incorrectly and left out the middle supports for the bed it just had plywood across the center and no slats or supports. Hanks said its out of warranty and there would be a charge to repair. After many discussions about how we purchased a product and paid for assembly. It was due to their incapabilities to perform said task that the bed had failed. After conversations with the store, they said it would cost to have a repairman come to look at it. I did not agree to such cost, they were paid to deliver a product and assemble correctly. They said it was out of warranty. After getting nowhere with the store I had called customer support. After explaining the situation the lady at the customer support said yes it is out of warranty and there would be a charge. I explained that it was improperly assembled and just took a year to break. She had the audacity to actually say well how do we know you didn't move the bed and leave out the pieces. My jaw dropped to the floor and blood pressure shot up. There is no compromise with this kind of service and the mentality of the staff.

I will never make another purchase at Hanks or any affiliate of them EVER, and if I have the influence to persuade a future purchase of any one else from Hanks I will try every effort possible!

HANKS IS A RIPOFF! and DOES NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT!

Bad service
We purchased a double reclining leather couch from Hank's in Hot Springs. The purchase was conducted in a very businesslike manner. Everything went down hill from there. The couch was delivered by Hank's truck and assembled. The truck left and we tried both recliners. Only one worked. A call to Hank's "service dept. was answered, after the second call. A repair man came and lubricated the one mechanism. 15 months later the pull cable failed on the same side. We have been unable to get any service after letters and multiple calls. Service stinks at Hank's.

Poor Quality, Rude Staff
This company should be ashamed of itself.
We purchased our bedroom set in May 2005.
The first delivery to us contained a cracked headboard. They did not warn me of this until the furniture arrived and the delivery man asked me if we still wanted it.
WHAT?
No, we did not ORDER defective furniture, so we declined it and requested a new headboard.
The armoire that we received had a big crack in the bottom - like a piece had been broken off. A few days later, I found the broken off piece in my front yard! Obviously one of the delivery guys broke it off and instead of telling me what happened, he just threw the piece in my yard. ugh.
Also - we ordered a "center support bar" and I assumed that it would be metal. So, as I watched the delivery guy pull out a large board and hammer it onto the frame, I asked if THAT was our $50 support bar. He said yes.
A few months later, they finally delivered our new armoire to replace the one they BROKE during delivery. I made the mistake of not thoroughly checking it out and later I opened the door and one of the doors was not even attached! Also - the inside of the armoire was not even the same finish as the rest of it.
Also - when we got our new bed, the drawers on the bottom did not even match up, so we can't shut them without slamming them shut.

OK... so this can be resolved, right? Just send us new furniture because we PAID for NEW furniture - not DEFECTIVE furniture. BUT... they refused! They just wanted to "fix" everything - not replace it. Then when I went to talk to the Manager, he got VERY VERY confrontational... he even stood up and got in my face and YELLED at me in his showroom.
So - I called the headquarters. The woman was pleasant - at first. She claimed she'd "take care of the situation" and get back to me in a few days. A few days passed and I heard nothing. I called her, left her messages, tried to get in touch with her for about a week. I finally got in touch with her and her "tune" had completely changed. She was RUDE and said there was nothing they could do.
So, now we are stuck with $2500 worth of poorly made furniture that Hanks refused to do anything about.
DO NOT SHOP AT HANKS. Yes, the showroom looks nice, but their furniture is JUNK and their customer service is even worse!!
They truly should be ashamed of themselves!
