Is it just me or do all pet stores that keep and sell bearded dragons know nothing about them?! this store have baby dragons housed on sand, which is well known to be the worse substrate for them as can be ingested when they catch their insects. there isnt a clean space of sand from their toilet duties. their UV tubes are reptiglo's, the reptiglo's have proved to be very harmful to their eye sights and bones, and they have red heating bulbs which do not filter out the strong and harmful UV rays, it HAS to be a white heating bulb. also the crickets this store had in with them are the size of the dragons heads! again, frst rule with dragons is the livefood (for the exception of some worms)cannot be no wider/ longer than the space between the dragons eyes as there is then a very high risk of constipation, impaction or even death. to me this is not the first store i have seen such things with, in another store i almost had an argument with a store worker about the size of the locusts they were trying to get a dragon to eat. this store WILL have issues with their dragons health if the store ends up with the animals for some time, if not then the poor new owners of these wonderful creatures will experience the loss of a beloved pet before they really ought to. another thing is housing too many dragons in one vivarium, they are NOT social animals, they are in fact solitary and territorial animals, the only time they come together is to breed, when one dragon is sitting on another is it NOT love it is domination and the smaller and squashed dragon will suffer, i wish and hope that these stores will soon seek correct and factual advise before selling bearded dragons, as they do give the worse information i have ever heard. i purchased a dragon from a private seller who took on all the advise she could get from pet stores and i only had the dragon a year when she then went into liver failure at just 2 years old, she was fed incorrect food items and there was no way i could reverse it although i tried my hardest. it hurts an awful lot to see such a lil animals suffer and yet there is just small things that could change all that. i hope others will agree with me. books even do not give good or factual advise.
