I purchased my 2001 Audi A4, used in 2006. While completing the sale, the sales rep, Eric, asked if I wanted to purchase a warrenty. I explained there was no way I would buy a warrenty on a used vehicle. He then stated that if I still owned the vehicle and hadn't used the warrenty within 4 years, I would be refunded the entire amount of the warrenty, ($3300). I decided at that point it was a win-win situation.
Once my 4 years had passed and I hadn't used the warrenty or sold the car, I tried to get my money back. I called Eric to find out what I needed to do and he gave me a copy of a back page on a form which I needed to call. I called that number and the could find no copy of my "registration" for the money back guarentee.
I was never told anything about a registration or the fee that goes along with it. When I brought this to Eric's attention, he simply said, "That was 4 years ago. I don't remember". I spoke with the warrenty guarentee company and they assured me that it was the responsibility of the sales person who sold the vehicle, to complete the warrenty money back guarantee registration and submit it.
I currently have a complaint with the BBB and will move to small claims next if necessary. I can see that somebody else had a complaint for the same thing against Harley's Auto Park but no way to contact them.
