Awful delivery service
I orderd furniture for my dining room being a sideboard and a display cabinet. Both peices of furniture were similar in size to exhisting peices which I wanted to replace, the cost being £745. As I live in a town house I pointed out to the salesman that the furniture needs to go up a flight of stairs. the salesman saw no issue with this
I took delivery today (or rather didn't) the delivery people said that the display cabint would not go up the stairs, despite it being only 1 cm taller and 3 cm wider than my exhisting one which our removal company put in less than 3 years ago with no problem at all. They both stood at the bottom of my stairs in my hallway saying we can try but i'm telling you it won't go in. They did not even take the furniture off the lorry and made no attempt to try. I sent them away and then contacted Harveys who said I can't cancel I can have somthing else and they''ll be a20% restock charge as it was my responsibilty to ensure that it will fit in. I thought I had, I had checked with the sales assistant about the stairs and the room being on the first floor I bought a cupboard the same size as one I already had. I have had to ammend my order which has cost me more, I have had to incurr a restock charge of over £100 I have wasted a whole morning trying to deal with a company who can only say you've signed our T &C's. I will never use Harveys again. And the motto.
If you buy furniture from Harveys hire a surveyor to ensure that the delivery staff can get it in your house, or better still go somewhere else.
