Do not expect HAYNES FURNITURE to stand behind their product
HAYNES Furniture does not stand behind what they sell, at least not in my case and from reading some of the posts, I'm not alone, I wish I would have seen this site before entering their doors. My experience with Haynes is that they are OK with selling something that is not quality, they don't stand behind what they sell, telling you anything to close the deal and a new definition for Customer Service. My story...
I purchased a recliner from Haynes and 5 months down the road with minimal use the cushion is worn down and the hard wooden board that is meant to support the back has pushed against my spine to where it has hurt my spine and I cannot physically sit in a chair that was supposed to be made for comfort. They sent a repair man out and he stuffed it full of foam so now what was poking me in my spine is poking me in my behind. I was told by the second repairman that came out, it is the way the chair is designed, nothing they can do about that. So the sales person that told me this was one of the best was misinformed?
The best part of this whole story is that I was told by their Customer Service Rep that THEY DO NOT WARRANTY COMFORT so if after 5 months of use your recliner that you purchased for comfort is not comfortable because there is a board poking your spine, it's just the way the manufacture designed it and it's not covered. Wonder if the other store would be interested in purchasing a nice looking chair that you can't sit in? You know the one...

Sold us a partical board diningroom table
We thought we were getting a great deal on a diningroom table. It was told to us that is was REAL wood, then when we finally opened it the table corners were falling apart. We called Haynes and they told us we waited to long to check the table...is that not what a warranty is for. We got nothing but a run around on who to call and who to talk to. I would recommend to not buy from Haynes. Sad to say but this is not the first time I have heard ill comments about how they handle business.

Never Shop @ Haynes!
January 9, 2011
Worst customer service, bad furniture & damage to my home!
Haynes furniture is a crooked company! (And they have very poor quality furniture.) I have never dealt with such horrible customer service before! I purchased a love seat, kitchen table and tv stand from them and each item had a problem.
Luckily I was looking out of my window when the drivers were taking the love seat off of their truck because I saw them hammer a nail in the side of the love seat to try to fix the fabric that had come loose!!! After a few attempts, it looked like they gave up and were going to load the thing back up, but instead they continued to bring the love seat into my house!
Once they had it in place, I questioned the driver about them "repairing" it out by their truck and let them know that they scratched and dented the doorway and left hand prints and marks all along the walls of my new house! I don't think that they would have mentioned anything about either, had I not. So they called their manager immediately to let her know about the damages and I was told that they would have a service person come out and fix my "new" love seat??? And they said the manager would call me later about the repair. So I signed the delivery form and they left.
A little bit later, the driver called me back and said that his manager told him to call me and ask if there was anything that he could do to repair my door and wall himself so that he didn't have to get a contractor to do it because that would cost too much $ for him. Shady!!! So I told him that to still have his manager call me.
After thinking about everything that had just happened, I decided that I did not want a "new" couch that had to be fixed so I called the phone # on the delivery ticket and explained that I wanted to return the couch for a refund and let them know that the shelves for the tv stand were missing. No problem, they would deliver the missing shelves in 2 days and pick up the love seat as well. I also asked if they normally have the drivers fix things themselves and she told me no and that the manager would still contact me later about the damage to my home.
The "manager" finally called at 7:30 pm (while I was cooking dinner) and asked if the driver had tried to contact me to fix the damage himself because they tell them to do that (totally trying to cover for him). I told her that I didn't want that driver back in my home. So she offered cash instead and we agreed on $20, which I will probably never see.
Even later that night, I noticed that the kitchen table was scratched on top, chipped on one side and the entire table top was warped! They were already closed though so I called the next morning.
I called the "manager" at 9am and left her a message. After not hearing back from her, I decided to call her again at 1pm. I told her I wanted the delivery charge removed in addition to the $20 and she said very rudely that she had already told me that they were taking the delivery fee off (yeah right). Next, when I told her about the table, she said that she didn't deal with returns so I would need to call a different dept???
So I called the # she gave me and spoke to an even ruder woman who basically told me that they would not return and refund the table for me. She said that once it is delivered they will send a service tech out to repair it instead. When I told her that I didn't want a new table that had to be fixed she said there was nothing she could do about that. She also said that I could return it if I just didn't like it or it was too big, etc. but now that I told her it was damaged, they will not take it back! Some not so nice words were exchanged and finally I demanded to speak with her manager whom she told me was not there right now (yeah right again) and that he would call me back.
Then to make a long story a little bit shorter:
I ended up having to call the "manager" back twice.
I finally heard back from him & he said that he was not authorized to help me.
I called my sales rep.
It took 2 cycles thru their phone menu to actually speak to a person.
He got me the "store manager"
"Store manager" told me he could not fix problem as well.
I told him that he had to!
After a couple more phone calls, he "called the regional manager" who approved the return.
He siad that they would pick up table with the love seat.
Delivery drivers got here and refused to take table because not on their ticket.
I had to make 5 more phone calls!
They approved them to take it but "no room on their truck" so would have to be next day.
They will pick up between 6 & 9 pm!!! That's a little late, don't you think???
They showed up at 8:40 pm & delivered missing shelves & took table.
On the way out they said "Just like a stripper, don't get no tips." (Classy!!!)
I did actually give them each a $10 tip after that, although I should have told them that their other delivery driver that damaged my home could give them the $20 he owed (which I will never see) as their tip!
So if anyone out there has a problem with Haynes, you just have to be very demanding to finally get what you want. They will give you the run around, but if you take the time to put up with their bs then you can eventually get your $ back!
Sorry for the long story but it was an awful experience and I had to let others know to never buy from Haynes!!!

Heed the complaints
From all of the complaints, I knew that Haynes had a very bad reputation for poor service. Unfortunately I found the perfect bedroom set in their store last year so I took a chance and ordered it.
Despite my misgivings, I found the experience to be wonderful. They called me and confirmed my delivery, then called me with me time frame just as they said they would. The drivers showed up as scheduled and were a joy to deal with... unfortunately this was last year and either I just lucked or something has changed.
With the wonderful experience I had, I did not hesitate to purchase 3 rooms of furniture from them several months ago. I did receive the call with a time frame, but the drivers did not arrive on time, were not friendly and basically just dropped the furniture and ran. As I was trying to get everything put together I noted several issues and contacted service.
To cut to the chase, it was a horrible delivery and has been a nightmare ever since causing me to take several days off work to meet with technicians and after 2 months I still do not have satisfactory furniture in my home.
In asking questions I have since found out that "The Dump" now runs Haynes. They are no longer a "real" furniture store that they used to be.
As they say "Buyer Beware" and when dealing with Haynes that statement could not be more accurate.

Bad service
Bought Nattuzzi leather couch and sectional, couch had very large "blemish" in center of one cushion. It was very, very noticeable to naked eye. Asked for new couch. Company said no, as it was signed for by my room-mate.
When i returned from out of state work, soon thre after, i called the furniture store. Whether or not i like the sofa is irrelevant, even if it looks bad. it was signed for. I payed a lot of money for high quality. Though blemishes in leather can't be predicted, this one is so very obvious and so very apparent!

Poor Customer service
My wife and I needed some furniture for our living room so we decided to head to Haynes the week before Thanksgiving. When we arrived we were greeted by a sales person who was very friendly, and he directed to us to the living room sets in the store. We picked out a sofa, love seat and recliner from the store and after an hour of paperwork we were told the only piece of furniture available for pickup was the love seat, and that the rest f the furniture would be in on DEC 20th 2009. My wife and I were upset because we needed the furniture in before the holidays because we were going to have guests over for Christmas, but we decided that it was still before Christmas and it shouldn’t be a problem. On the 15th of DEC we called the store to insure that the rest of our furniture was in and we were told that our furniture would not be in until the 20th of January. My wife and I at this point were irate and demanded to know why we were not told about this when we purchased the furniture, the sales representative that sold us the furniture explained to us that all he does is look on a screen and it gives him the projected dates of furniture arrival and there is nothing he could do. So now my wife and I had only a love seat in the living room for seating on Christmas. Very upset at the situation we went back into Haynes and spoke with a manager to see if he could sell us the floor model. He told us that he couldn’t, but what he could do is give us back our money for the furniture. The furniture we selected was very durable and we had already looked all over Hampton roads searching for it and we just wanted our furniture. We decided to wait until the 20th of Jan for it to come in. A few days before the 20th we called the store to see again when our furniture would be in and again we were told that our furniture wouldn’t be in until the 20th of Feb. So almost three months later, we are still left with only a loveseat in our home, with a dilemma of not being able to buy furniture elsewhere because it would not match. Not once has Haynes called us to let us know the date of arrival has been changed, we have had to call every time to check the status, and each time it is at least 2 days before they call back. They have no explanation of why the furniture has been delayed so long, and have made no attempt to resolve the problem. The once friendly salesman is now no longer to be found and impossible to get a hold of now that he has already made his sale. Now we are at the point where we just want our furniture in and we would never again refer or go back to Haynes furniture AGAIN!

Scam
Attention!!! HAYNES FURNITURE A.K.A. THE DUMP furniture store
Buyers beware!!! All over the country, this company is ripping people off and THEY JUST PLAIN DON'T CARE!!
Please read my story. The Dump has crossed the line with more unethical, fraudulant, and outright SHOCKING behaviors and sales practices. My story is definately not unique, but I have chosen to not lie back and take it. I am seeking media attention as well as doing everything in my power possible to spread the word about THE DUMP.

Poor quality
I found this site before I even left the house to start shopping for furniture. Some of the stories left me a little uneasy. However, I found similar stories, or worse in a few cases, for Value City, Haverty's, & Grand. I guess any big company is going to have some customers they aren't able to please.
Anyway, I ended up shopping all of the above mentioned stores. Most of Value City's furniture appeared to be poor quality. Grand was probably just as bad. Haverty's seemed more in line with what Haynes had but more expensive and not as much to choose from. So, I ultimately made my bedroom and recliner purchase from Haynes.
Again, I was a little uneasy since I had read some negative reviews. The salesman wasn't the most knowledgable but he was good enough for my purposes. I paid $2100 for my bedroom and 2 recliners. They scheduled my requested delivery of Thursday (I purchased on Monday). They called the day before and told me they'd be here between 1p-3p. They called at 11a on Friday and asked if they could come earlier, at 12:45, and I said that'd be fine. The delivery and set up went fine. The delivery truck said Cory on it... guess Haynes contracts the delivery to them.
My new furniture has been great so far. No complaints at all. Felt I needed to post my positive feedback for anyone who may be in the same situation I was in - Not knowing who to trust since there seem to be unhappy customers with every store.

carpert installation
Take all these complaints and note them well. I only wish I would have investigated Haynes more before I purchased furniture and carpet from them. I purchased my carpet in November of '08'. The carpet was put in a week before my daughters wedding ceremony on Dec 20 (which was being performed in the room in which the carpet was being replaced in). The first crew to come in and put the carpet in was TERRIBLE! they were unprofessional, did sloppy work, patched a corner and didn't tell me, it looked like they took a box cutter down the middle of the room where the seam was, there was a 3/4 inch gap from where the carpet ended and the door started, and they didn't have the proper equipment and had to come back the next day to finish. Which meant another day off work for me. I complained to the company, which they were not very cooperative immediately. I told them at that time I didn't want anything but them to come and do it right. They basically try tosay whatever they have to say in order to not replace it again. I will say this much, I called my sales person, And he was very prompt on getting the ball rolling . I finally got someone out there to see the carpet and he agreed the whole carpet had to be replaced. needless to say, it took another month. The next time they came in I took another day off work, they replaced it again and there was a carpet flaw! THREE DAYS OFF WORK SO FAR! and a 50 year old piano that has to keep being moved and now really needs to be tuned! Come to find out, the first guys they sent to replace the carpet had a bad reputation and many complaints on him from everyone, yet they continue to do business with him. They are contractors. Now its April and I just had the carpet replaced, Installation # 3! 4 DAYS OFF WORK, 2 MORNINGS OFF FOR THE INSPECTOR TO COME AND EXAMINE THE CARPET, MANY PHONE CALLS AND ALOT HEADACHES WITH MY LIVING ROOM NOT BEING ABLE TO FULLY PUT BACK TOGETHER FOR OVER 4 MONTHS! Unfortunately for me, this carpet has cost me more than it was worth. Trying to deal with customer service was terrible. I asked for just my time to be compensated, and you would have thought that the customer service reps were paying it out of their own pocket! They finally, after many attempts and many more phones calls, compensated me with a "gift certificate" with an expiration date on it. Like I really want to do any more business with them! As far a I'm concerned, it didn't make any of this worth what I purchased.
