I tried to advertise a TV in the Junk mail, and a potential buyer tried to contact me. She sounded like a serious buyer and asked me to please hold onto the TV for her, as she needed to arrange the money. I did so and she got back to me saying she was able to pay the money and wanted to know what bank I bank with. I told her FNB and she said she banks with ABSA, but not to worry as she will fax proof of payment to me. I forwarded my details, and true to her word 10 minutes later I received proof of payment, and a copy of her hollard policy to confirm her address. Both documents looked legitimate. She then said she would send someone to collect it. We arranged for a public place, restaurant, and a guy did come to collect it. I contacted her to confirm if it was her guy and she phoned him on his cell, to which he responded to in front of me. He took the TV.
I checked my account today as, according to ABSA, payments made after 15:00 will only reflect after midnight the next day, but the money does not reflect in my account ... I called her and she says she doesn’t know what happened to the money, she will find out and call me in half an hour. She did not call back and now the cell number is unreachable... I contacted hollard, and the policy number does match up to the given name, or address. ABSA is no help since they say they can't trace a transaction with a transaction ID... they need a bank account number.
Should I go to the Police? What can they Do?
What else can she do with my bank details? It seems that my goods are gone.

The woman’s "name" is Hazel Crawford. She speaks with a slight accent but is definitely African.
