I placed an Internet order on 12/10/08 for a camera as a Christmas gift. I paid extra to get in in 2-3 days so I would not have to worry about it getting here on time. I then received an email stating I needed to phone them to verify the order. When I called I was told it was instock & ready to ship. That was when they asked if I wanted the battery that went to the camera and I could choose a 2 hour one for $129.00 or a 5 hour one for $159.00. I was stunned to say the least. I told them I assumed it came complete, but said no it does not. They drooped the price for the battery $20.00 as a curiosity and then tried to sell me a bunch of accessories to go with it. I said no and asked them to confirm it was there & ready to ship out . They said yes, no problem, it is in stock & you will have it by Christmas. I wanted to make sure it was here for Christmas and they said yes no problem. Well it now Dec.31, 08 have not heard from them at all, have no camera and my visa bill is charged for over 500.00 to them for which I am going to dispute!
I CANNOT TELL YOU ANYTHING GOOD ABOUT THE WAY THEY DO BUSSINESS>

I ordered an Olympus camera and the vendor required a confirmation phone call. After waiting on hold for 14 minutes to confirm the order, I was informed that the camera does not come with a battery, even though the manufacturer includes it. The arrogant clerk "explained" they break open the manufacturers bundle and then sell the normally included items at an additional cost. STAY AWAY!!!

You definitely want to stay away from these guys!!! This is the 2nd time (why????) I attempted to buy something and each time I was told it was in stock then they tried squeezing a warranty or a battery that you CAN find anywhere else. When I refused to buy anything, they stated it would be sent out. Ofcourse a week later each time I find out the item has been back ordered. STAY AWAY from these CLOWNS!!!

Placed an order on Aug 14/08 for a digital camera since the price is what caught my eye...After checking the order status, which seemed to be processing the entire upcoming week, I called HD Camera World and spent 10 minutes on hold..After finally reaching a rep, I was told that the camera I was looking for was out of stock and scheduled to be shipping from their Canadian warehouse in two weeks...The rep tried to sell me the same camera, which was in stock, but claimed that it was more expensive than the one I had inquired about since it had a "magnesium" case / body. I researched the web for the camera I was looking for and it only came with a plastic body and no "magnesium" option was available. This simply showed that the rep was trying to sell me the same product and ask $150 more than the original price. Once I said no and told the rep I was going to wait 2 weeks for the camera to come in from Canada, he told me that I did not provide him with a three digit code found on the back of my credit card. Without one, the rep told me my order could not be processed. I again called HD Camera World about a month later and inquired about my order. I was able to reach a female rep, after only being on hold for 10 minutes. She told me that my camera was on back order till late September and would not be shipping until then. At that point I was simply fed up with their bullshit and had the order canceled. I strongly recommend not to deal with this company as their low prices may fool you as they did me.. I did my research afterwards and found this thread to be really helpfull...

I was more than dissatisfied with HD Camera World after placing an order for a Cannon PowerShot. Seriously, if it sounds to good to be true...it is. This company offered a price far below all the others. I placed the order on Aug 3rd. I waited a week for the order to be "processed". I then emailed them to inquire on status...no response back. I called a few days later and was placed on hold for 15 minutes. I was told that the camera was on backorder and would be in on Aug 29th. I opted to wait for the camera. I called on 9/2 to inquire of status. I was on hold again for about 10 minutes. The "Sales" rep said that they no longer sell "just the unit". That I would need to purchase the kit (camera, battery and charger). I was more than furiated. I was told I should have received an email. I still hadn't received a response from the first email. The price for the kit was no deal. I can go down to my local retailer and get the same thing today. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY.
