I am holding a HDFC Bank Credit Card (Platinum) for many years but recently it was brought to my notice by the Bank that my DOB is not correct in their records and they cannot take my queries on phone banking.
When I asked the Bank how can by DOC be incorrect in their records, they told me that I have not submitted and DOB proof at the time of application and I should now submit a ID proof to get it corrected. (Id proof has DOB on them)
My basic questions to the Bank are:
1) How can my DOB be incorrect in their record? Is it my fault in filling the form?
2) At the time of issue of the card I did submit an ID proof. Why can’t bank retrieve those docs and fix my DOB.
I am ok to re-submit the docs but someone from bank should contact me and explain me what went wrong and answer my queries.
In this competitive environment bank should realize that this is not the only bank that issues credit cards.
I am really getting disappointed by HDFC to a limit that this may lead to end of very long relationship with them.
