Harassment by the recovery department!
Even after receiving confirmation mails from [email protected] dated 19/10/2006 about the payment of Rs18000. And even after the issuing of the Settlement letter from the HDFC bank and even after showing the payment receipts to the recovery department. The recovery department is harassing by calling, for the amount of Rs15222.

Rude customer service!
I have a major issue with HDFC bank, where I have opted for credit card and on December, 2006 I have requested for full & Final settlement but they didn’t react on this and end of December, 2006 one of the HDFC representative came for the collection, I was very frustrated even then I made the payment and finally I said to this representative that please do the F&F after making lots of calls and requests they came in January, 2007 for the settlement. The letter was dated December, 2006 where I said what is this why this letter is back dated that representative said sir your letter was printed last month and this letter comes from Chennai office that’s why its got delay and we came in January, 2007. Where I need to pay 30K, in this regard I said I have already paid 3k after doing lots of request and calls then they said ok sir please issue us 27K cheque for the settlement and I do the same.

After 2 months HDFC start calling me for the payment where I said I have already done the settlement but HDFC says sorry, for the settlement you didn’t made the payment in one shot that’s why your F&F is not valid.

In this regard I have a letter from HDFC stating about F&F settlement plus a receipt for the same but still every day I am getting calls.

I am totally fed up and frustrated and every time they are using very bad language even 2-3 times they were very rude to my wife and many times they use abusive language.

Poor service!
Our firm Sri Janki stores had installed credit-debit card machine from HDFC bank. During one of our transaction customer's card was swiped thrice. But this transaction was not shown. But later when the customer checked his bank details he found three entries have been made. As we had made all his entries void the amount was transferred from our account. Till date the customer have not received his amount, so we had given him the cash money from our account. After repeated complaints made to HDFC bank Asansol Branch, till date we have not received the money in our account after giving the bank a written letter from the customer that he has received the cash from Sri Janki Stores.

Unmannered and abusive language of customer

Regret to say & feeling very bad that I had opted HDFC Bank Ltd. for credit card facility.

This is with reference to an invoice dated 19th Apr, 2007 against above credit card in my account. It shows a minimum due amount of Rs.2330/-. Because of some urgency with some personal matters, I couldn’t pay the minimum due amount & then I have planned to pay with late fee against the next invoice of HDFC Bank Ltd. for the month of May, 07.

On 21st May, 2007 at around 1622 hrs., I have received a call from your collection executive named Mr. Siddhartha from the telephone no. 011-41444268 asking for the minimum due payment on behalf of HDFC Bank Ltd. I have shown my helplessness & assured him to make the payment next month along with the late fee. Have shared below facts with him –

1) Since last 03 years, I am a HDFC Bank customer & using the card very regularly.
2) Making the payment regularly as shown in the invoices.
3) It has happened in the past also, that I have missed on the minimum due on certain occasions, but as I am fully aware of Bank’s terms & conditions, I have paid the amount very next month along with the late fee.
4) This due is only against last month’s invoice, not since last 4-5 months.

But, in his whole conversation, this gentleman was totally raw, ill mannered with very rough & abusive language.
The way he has dealt with myself, doesn’t give a good sign on HDFC part. If this person is one of the employees of HDFC name, I am afraid of HDFC’s future.

I have tried to speak to him to make him understand that though you are in collection department, but you cannot deal with every customer in the same way, can’t use bad language, can’t abuse so easily... but the vocabulary that he has shown very seemed to be much handy with him and sounded as “harami” ... ”haramzada”... ”teri aukat nahi hai”... ”kutte ki aulad” etc.. etc... (and so many other “bad sayings”, that I cannot write)

I want a responsible person to take a serious now, as your executives cannot speak like this…whatever they want to…whenever they want to…with whom so ever they want to…

With the lot of dis-appointment, waiting for a response on this message.

With full of frustration I am writing this complaint about HDFC Bank
With full of frustration I am writing this complaint. If anyone can help me please give the appropriate person call number because the phone bankers are again delaying to look at the complaint. The issue is as follows:

1. I have given the request to change the address by April 26 2007.
2. I went and inquired whether the address is modified by April 30 2007 and got it informed tat they will change the address by May 3rd or May 4th
3.Then again i went and inquired on May 4th and got informed tat they didn't update the address.
5. I fought with the guy like a manager and got the DD's to apply for my visa and the bank statement for 6 months on May 4th.
6. But in spite of all my struggle the statement given was with the old address and hence my visa was returned from the visa agent on May 9th
7. On May 10 I again went to them to get the new statement with my new address but now the concerned person is saying tat the address is not yet modified as he thinks tat the form may be lost and he asked to give the new form. With full of frustrations I walked out of the place.

I am in full frustration. As a customer how can we handle such a humiliating and irresponsible activity from an organization like HDFC. I have to bear the loss of getting back my visa and after affects of that.

Credit card penalties
Credit card was given on the condition that first year no charges will be levied. Inspire of this Rs. bill was issued by bank for Rs. 540 for credit card account opening charges, after received the bill i wrote a letter to HDFC bank. Bank has assured that account opening charges will be reversed and same has been reversed in time. But penalty for non payment of credit card account opening charges have debited in my account and that amount was increased up to Rs. 2800. This is not justified. Bank cannot charged on those amount which is not payable by customer.

Varying and In-Convenient ECS dates
I have taken a personal loan from HDFC and filled an ECS mandate form after loan approval. But the bank representative who took all the forms and completed documents did not tell me about the ECS date.

In the month of repayment of first EMI, I suddenly received an SMS quoting that my first EMI through ECS was due on 7th day of that month. Please note that this date is not convenient for me as all my funds and salary transfer on 7th itself or by 10th day of the month.

Moreover, the ECS transaction is being held on different dates. Once it was held on 8th, once on 9th and other time on 7th day of the month. Due to this discrepancy I could not deposit money in my account and finally I was penalized by my bank (ICICI) with which I had my salary account.

When I contacted HDFC customer care, I was informed that this date could only be decided at the time of form filling when my loan was approved. So, the customer should have right to choose the appropriate date as per his/her convenience. But the banks are not giving that right/ information to the customers and making them fool like HDFC bank did to me.

Using abusing language
Hi I am Hemant Goel from Hapur. I am working with Global Telelinks GmbH at Noida. My Cell Number is 9313598564.

I am receiving unwanted calls from HDFC Bank collection Department and he is asking for Mr Harish Chandra Negi , Which I never know. I have told several times that I don't know harish chandra negi but they are not listening and start most worst abusing language.

I am getting around 40-50 calls per day from HDFC Bank.

I have called HDFC bank also regarding this matter but they are not ready to give the complaint no. I am doing night shift and because of this type of calls I am not feeling well also.

My family members (bhabhi) has also picked up the phone and they are saying "we are coming to your home and we all will rape" this kind of language they are using.

Bankers robbery!
I want to put my views and opinions about HDFC bank and my horrible experiences that one may doesn't want to go through. I have a very pathetic experience with HDFC two wheeler loans and the issue still remains unresolved by them. In November 2004, I had taken a two wheeler loan from HDFC bank which made me a proud owner of my bike. I have been a loyal customer to them and have never defaulted in any of my payments and have never done it in my life. We all know how important our credit history is to us.

My loan account number is 879160 and my name is Mr. Kuchi Venkata Subbarao. I do not stay in India currently and so may not be able to take timely appropriate action against these crooks. I have my parents staying in India who have to go through the harassment made by the bankers. As we know that two wheeler loans are only given if we provide post dated cheques of the amount required to be given to the bank. All my installments have gone through smoothly except for one in the month of May 2005. The reason for the same not going through was due to signature mismatch.

To the best of my knowledge I have only one signature which I make wherever required. However, the very next month there was a phone call made to my place and asking to make an alternate payment with late fees. Since I was not there that time, my parents had to make cash payment to the person appointed by HDFC for collection. Nevertheless, after making payment a receipt was handed over to my parents saying that the payment was then cleared. Till today I was living in complete peace and the loan was closed and the last installment got debited in the month of October 2006.

All of a sudden today my parents receive a letter dated 18 November 2006, using the extreme harsh language and threaten to have the bike confiscated and auctioned to recover the amount due from me at my cost. After having a word with the customer service (harassment) executive, I realized that the letter was in respect of the installment not received by them in May 2005 and I should be really glad to the bank for their early response for which i have already made an alternate payment. Surprisingly the letter also used words like "instead of repeated reminders i failed to make the payment" where as there was no single correspondence sent to me at my address. I was promised a reply within 3 days by the executive but there is no reply till date even after 5 days.

Following is a list of my concerns and will be very grateful if you can take it forward to the person responsible for the blunder.
a) Why don’t they have complete details in their systems if the payment was collected by their own representative?
b) If it was to do with an installment of May 2005, were they sleeping till now?
c) If they had a system saying that the payment was not made for that month, why was there no correspondence sent or phone call made to me till now about this?
d) Why did the letter use words like "instead of repeated reminders" when there was no single letter sent or a phone call made to me.
e) While talking to the customer service rep. I was asked if you have the receipt??? I said I had the receipt but never expected you to come back so late asking me for it. Am I wrong if ask you to produce the receipt of your class tenth examination fees? Can I expect it to be preserved for me?

I do not expect my parents to go through any inconvenience just because i am not there to handle the situation especially when we have cleared all our dues and have no liabilities on us.

Credit card not received!
This is to bring your kind attention towards my problem. HDFC Bank has issued a Credit Card in my name but I never received the Credit card. The Bank agents handed over the card to someone else without matching my signature and without informing the issuance of card.

On 12-10-06 and HDFC Bank Agent informed me that an amount of Rs.9975/- is debited from my account through Credit Card purchase. Earlier only calls for address verification were received from Bank but Bank didn’t informed me when it issued the card. The Bank also unblocked the card for transaction without my permission, which resulted into the deduction of above-mentioned amount from my salary account.

After personal discussion with Credit Card Manager Mr. Rohit Saxena, (Credit Card’s Division 5th and 6th floor, Ansal Classic Tower, Rajourie Garden) told me that the Card was sent through speed post. But no parcel received through post. In reply to the above complaint to HDFC Bank Card Division, P.O. Box 399, Anna Salai, Chennai. I received a letter stating that all the transaction incurred on my account before reporting blocking of card is payable by me.

I had requested Customer Care to block the Card only after knowing that the purchase has been done on my account. I have also requested Bank to refund all my money, as I was totally not informed about the issuance of card. This is the complete responsibility of the Bank agent to inform the customer about the issuing of card. Also the Bank has not matched the signatures on any receipt.

I have also filed the case in Consumer Court Noida but still the Bank hasn’t show me any proof of receiving the Card by me or the other person. So, think twice before you go to HDFC Bank!
