Credit card payment
I had lot of grievences on the HDFC credit card No.5176351001670201 , particularly the name printed on this card and many more issues. Anyway, the card got expired in last December 2006, and the dues on this card was settled amicably for an amount of Rs. 6600/- on 23rd july2007 vide ref No. S 0016006 in Rajouri Garden, New Delhi to be paid in 5 monthly shots. The first payment of Rs.3000/- was debited from my current account No.0432470005990 within a day or two from the date final settlement. Actually, I am holding 2 accounts in HDFC Bank ,Saket, New Delhi, ie SB A/C No.0431140001483 and the aforesaid Current Account Number. As soon as my next months ( August 2007) salary got crdited, Credit card division, New Delhi kept a good amount on hold from my SB Account without any reason and without my knowledge and due to this reason my 3 cheques got dishounoured including my credit payment of Rs.900/- for the month of August. I had to suffer a penalty of Rs. 1300/- for this reason. I approached your Rajouri garden, New Delhi Manager Mr. Amit Sagar, and he said he would release the the amount which is kept on hold within a couple of days after deducting my August payment. Days passed and and it never happened. I was under the impression that, he had relesed the amount kept on hold and I issued cheque for the next month. Many people called me for August payment and I told them the awhole story. Again the next month also I noticed, an amount is kept on hold either from my current account or SB account. I went to Rajouri garden, New Delhi again and met Mr. Amit sagar. The busy guy, this time also said, needful would be done. I kept on calling and visiting Rajouri garden to release my amount as he promised, for the payment of next month. Sick and tired of this, atlast I approached Mr. Prashant, Managter, Saket Branch New Delhi, to contact credit card division for clearence of all my dues in one shot from the amount kept on hold and issue me the clearence certificate. He has written a long letter to credit card division
and again nothing happened. At last, I went to meet Mr. Amit Sagar, Rajouri Garden, New Delhi and it ended up in verbal encounter and I was humiliated infront of others for my good intension. Being a women, I did not have any reply except calling police. Now I got a big statement amouting to Rs. 21000/- as a retaliatory action from Mr. Amit sagar. Now I dont know, to whom I meet for justice

Anyway, i dont want to drag this matter to any unpleasant situation. I am a mother of 2 and a good human being living with a meagre income. I want to clear all my dues on final settlement amount ( Rs.6600/-) and to get rid of this problem. I dont know what is going on in my account. At times, money is on hold and at times some money is released and at times cheques are getting bounced. All these drama took place just for a peanut amount of Rs.2000 or a little more. So kindly contact me either in my E-mail or my phone and settle the matter immediately and issue me the clearence certificate.

Is HDFC blind?
Hi

I opened a new account with HDFC earlier this month. I had to receive the welcome kit by the 17th and issue urgent cheques during that week. Everybody in the bank including the sr. sales person who opened my account and the Manager of the branch at HDFC Arjun Marg, Gurgaon, Delhi, india assured me that i shall receive the cheque book within that time. I made continuous calls to the call center. they always said the status is currently not reliable but i shall receive the kit within 7 days of account opening. On my desperate effort after 14 days account opening, a gentleman at the call center told me that the address has a mistake and the cheque book has been returned. Every time i used to repeat the address, the photocopy of the form has the right address. No one ever bothered to notice this and tell me. Now I have beared Rs.10,000 plus for issuing DDs and transferring money since i did not have the cheque book. Who is responsible? Is everybody at HDFC blind?

Harassment!
I was an unfortunate holder of a HDFC Credit card from late 2004 to early 2006. It was supposed to be a lifetime free silver credit card. The card had a meager credit limit of Rs 12000.00 and I had hardly ever used it. Whenever I had used it for small amounts I paid back within 2-3 days time not even waiting for the due date to come.

In fact I had a Citibank Credit card with a much higher credit limit and better facilities do I used to use that one more. You can check my repayment record with Citibank if you want. Satisfied by my clean repayment record they kept increasing my card’s credit limit and facilities every year.

I had no outstanding amount on the HDFC card and in spite of informing the bank again and again never ever received a single statement from them.
On one fine day, in early 2006 I called up HDFC Bank Credit Card Division Customer Care and informed them that I was going to destroy the card so that they can block the account. They said I don’t have any outstanding but as a fore-closure free I need to pay one hundred something rupees which would be coming in the next statement and I can pay it then. I again told them that I never received any statement from them. But they said this time onwards I would definitely get them.

Days, weeks, months have passed after I have broken the card into 4 pieces and dropped the pieces in the trash can of one of the HDFC ATM’s. Then suddenly I get a call from a person called Rajesh from HDFC Bank’s recovery section. It was about a year after I had destroyed the card. Rajesh said I had about 20,000.00 Rupees outstanding on my card and needed to pay immediately. I was stunned and I said there must have been some mistake on their part. But he kept insisting. He even threatened to drag me to the cops and the court. I felt nervous because I can’t deny that the card belonged to me because I had signed on the application form while applying for the card. Besides, I didn’t have any paper, statement, letter indicating that I’m being wrongly charged. I continued to argue with him but ultimately had to give in. He said if I pay him Rs 5000 –something on that day itself in cash, he would get me the letter of settlement within a day. I unwillingly agreed, in fear of unnecessary trouble and embarrassment.

I asked him to come to my office (TCS, Whiltefield) in Bangalore. He came with another guy from the collection agency, took the money, gave me a receipt and said he would be sending the settlement letter to me on the very next day. Ever since I had been waiting for that letter and it never came. I only have a copy of the receipt for that amount but it does in no way prove that the account had been settled. I tried calling him several times at the number he had called me from but it turned out to be an office board number so I could never talk to him.

For almost 10 months I did neither hear nor receive anything from the bank.
Now, on an official assignment I have come to Japan and I have to stay here for a couple of years if not more. Suddenly my father calls me and tells me that a certain Arjun from HDFC bank is calling and threatening them repeatedly saying ‘Your son owes us Rs 24000. Either ask him to pay or we’ll drag you to the court’. I asked my father to give them my japan contact number and email id but they said they didn’t want to make international calls and kept harassing my helpless old parents. At last, I told my father to tell them about Rajesh and the letter of settlement that never came to me. Now they are saying unless I present the settlement letter to them, they will send goons to our place and issue a legal notice etc etc.

My agreement with my firm doesn’t allow me to go to India before I have completed 18 months here. I am feeling so helpless out here. What to do? How to prove I am innocent? Is there anyone who can help me out? Can my parents sue the bank for harassment? Is it possible without having all necessary papers? I don’t have any papers with me except for that last receipt, partly because of my foolishness but mainly because of the bank’s callousness.

HDFC Bank doesn't follow customers instruction and harras them
I have applied for a cheque book into one of the HDFC Bank branchs in Bangalore. Though my mailing address is my office address, still I prefered to collect the cheque book from the bank branch itself and same has been instructed on the form. Later it was told to me that it has been despatched to my mailing address, which I havn't received even after a months time. Everytime they asked me to call phone banking and sort our the matter by srugging their responsibility. When I call phone banking after wasteing numouras valuable minutes and money "ON HOLD", inefficient customer service representatives are unable to resolve the matter. Sent mails after mails, but in reply to that I get few generic stupid formatted reply which no way served my purpose.

Now I am exhausted of cheque books and it seems HDFC deosn't bother to issue another one by resolving the matter.

CAN SOMEBODY PROVIDE ME THEIR HIGHER AUTHORITIES E-MAIL ID?

Phishing email
Today i got this email, even though i am not a HFC bank customer. I suspect that it is a phishing site. I couldn't contact HDFC bank. If any one has their email id please forward this mail.

Threatening calls to me and my family!
I am a HDFC credit card account holder. I have failed to pay 300/ - Rs in my last months monthly due which was at 3300/-. I had paid 3000 but there was a due of 300/-. I received a call from the following number - 08064501854 from Ms Anitha and she told me that I don't have 300 Rs and she went on to state the following words:

"You wait and watch what I do to you. I have your residence address and you and your family just wait and watch."

I tired calling her back to speak to her manager but she picked up the calls and cut the line and threatened me each time.

Threating me and my family with dire consequences for a delay of 3 days is not acceptable and to imagine that a multi national bank can come down to the illegal resorts of physical threatening is not believable in the current world.

Fraud and cheating!
I applied personal loan in HDFC and gave all my documents!! One day they called me up for verification and I went there. They told that my previous employment relieving order is not authentic and started threaten me to pay them Rs.4000/- to close the file. They took me to a personal glass room and asked me to pay them money. I didn't even receive any money from them and just to reject my application they threaten my to pay them the money!! HDFC is the worst bank ever!!! I am pissed off with their rude behavior, they are just the piece of junk!!

Poor service!
I have savings account in Kalyan (Maharashtra) branch of HDFC bank. I dropped 1 cheque to transfer my funds from CITIBANK to HDFC on 31st July 2007 - 21:30 in ATM near RAILWAY STATION, Kalyan. Today is 8th August, 16:35 PM and still the cheque has not been cleared. I called up the bank and they say they did not receive the cheque either. Even after dropping the cheque in official HDFC ATM DROP BOX, it takes so many days to clear a LOCAL CLEARING CHEQUE.

This may not be a problem on local branch level as the STAFF of Kalyan branch is unaware of the collection of my cheque and they still have not received the cheque. Its the pathetic cheque collection delays from HDFC cheque collection team (or the responsible persons for cheque collection) that may have caused the delays.

Anyways, it is hampering the reputation of HDFC bank since it is known as reliable service bank in private sector and far better than the pathetic ICICI bank.

HDFC bank officials please look into this matter, late cheque payments can cause serious issues for both parties.

Poor service!
I have taken a Personal Loan of 55,000 Rs. From Nashik branch in the month of May 2007. On every conversation with the banking personnel I told them that I need Personal loan. As this was my first time, that I am in involved in Loan activity. I had faith in HDFC bank.

When the amount was disbursed to me the EMI for a Loan of 55,000 came out to be 3243.00... I asked them that on the internet It comes out to be something around 1800 then the reply from bank was that it is a different calculation. I did not get any good reply from them. As I was in urgent need of money I took that amount..

Later I just inquired them regarding the high EMI... They told me that they have issued me Express loan. when I inquired, that I had requested for Personnel loan why then Express loan there is no positive reply from them.

Express loan rate of interest in very high as compared to Personal loan.

Customer abuse!
Hi,

Around 4 years back HDFC bank called me and mentioned that they have free Credit Card for me with no annual subscription or renewal fee. I obliged and they collected my details over phone and sent me the Card. I used it and when I saw the statement they had added annual subscription fee (Not sure of what amount). I paid the expenses and called them to rectify - they first blamed other executives and later they asked me to send a letter. They also assured me that it would be rectified from next month's statement. I called them and followed up with them several times but even in next month they added the same. I payed my expense and then I requested them for cancellation. They canceled my card but they kept on sending the statement but everytime the Call Center used to tell me that they would rectify. After that they stopped sending me statements. An year later the collection agencies called me several times and I always explained the entire situation again and again. At that time I felt like going to Consumer Court but could not take the hassles. They mentioned that it is now 3K rs. After that they stopped calling me and I guessed they have corrected it.

Few days back i.e. 4 years later a nasty call was received by my wife in threatening tone for this payment. I am afraid of security and their harassment. I am thinking of taking some action against this.
