Healthcare Malaga
My mum went to our local health centre in Alora at the end of October with a swollen stomach and pain. Her doctor came accross rude and uncaring, it took 7 weeks to identify tumour markers in my mums blood. We saw a specialist in Hospital Virgen de la Victoria in Malaga 9 days later. We had to wait 10 hours in the emergency department for mum to be admitted for a CAT scan the following week. We then had to wait 3 weeks for the hospital to do a CAT scan. At this point they had found a lesion on her colon, fluid on her stomach and cleared her of any other problems. They then did a laparoscopy. Two weeks later they told us that mum had ovarian cancer. She was given morphine patches and advised to cut them in half to increase the dosage. Mum ended up back in Hospital Virgen de la Victoria on January 17 when her kidneys started to fail and she could not look after herself. We again had to spend 10 hours waiting to be admitted to the observation department. Three days later she was diagnosed with a chest infection which the doctor said was most probably caused by the laparoscopy. She was then told she had a blood clot on her lung. Treatment was started straight away and although the treatment was excellent, the attitude and helpfulness of the staff was not. She improved enough that they started her on chemotherapy Monday January 31. Although she did not have many side effects from the treatment, she was scared and depressed mostly due to the lack of compassion of the staff, waiting sometimes 2 hours for pain relief or to be cleaned as she was incontinent. She could not get herself out of bed but the doctors (all 3 that came round on almost alternate days) refused to get her assessed by a physiotherapist. By the Thursday she had become extremely weak and tired with spells of confusion and dizziness which I was assured was normal by the nurse. At 12:30am Saturday morning she died. The blood clot was initial cause of death followed by neutropenia and kidney failure caused by cancer of the ovary and the lining of the colon. We (me and my dad) were then told to clear the room of her things while she lay in a body bag on the bed. We were then informed that the hospital would not store the body for more than a couple of hours and we would had to arrange her funeral and have it removed by a funeral director there and then. Apart from one of the doctors, we received no works of sympathy or any respect from any member of staff.

Unauthorized charges on credit card
This is a warning to anyone in the Wichita area looking for
transportation services. DO NOT use Brightstar Healthcare!
There are professional services that have the proper vehicles
in the city and who have the credentials to transport medical
patients comfortably and smoothly.
I made a mistake and called these crazy people thru a referral
from someone who had no idea how much trouble they'd cause!
I was quoted a price of $25 by Susan for transport. Then the day
of my surgery, Ann Dexter showed up driving her own van, a
personal vehicle and I had to sit in the front seat after the surgery
and jump out at the pharmacy drive thru and hobble to the pay
window! This woman told me that she came from a NEWSPAPER,
not a medical background! As is also the owner Bill Wagenbaur.
Susan Huebert is the only RN and she did not participate except
to quote $25 to me when I first called.
The day after my surgery, I get a call from Wagenbaur, who proceeds
to tell me I was told the wrong fee for transport and continues to
complain to me (I'm on painkillers and sleepy) that he can't pay
his staff at that amount, blah blah blah. He also whines about the
clinic calling the driver back to wait, when she was at lunch then
she has to wait when she gets back to the clinic. yad yada...
I'm like, "I was in surgery, how am I suppose to know what the
clinic told you to do?" I then told him not to run my card
and forbid him from storing my card numbers.
Then I see a commercial for another company, which I wish
I had called instead. I see a vehicle with a company name on the
door panels! And more than one employee assisting!
I finally get a bill in the mail that is handwritten and call their
number. I am told, "OH we thought you refused to pay, so we put it
into collections." That was Fall 2009.
Fast forward to February 18, 2010. I'm suddenly missing $60 of my
disability money off the V. card I had told Bill Wagenbaur to NOT RUN
because he increased the transport fee, after the fact! I called Ann
Dexter and told her she had NO PERMISSION to ding my Visa after
I was told it was in collections by Susan Huebert.
My advice to anyone here is to NOT use this franchise. You do not
have to have medical knowledge to be a manager. They do not
use trained medical transport drivers. I expected someone to talk to
me and do what the clinic EXPECTS them to do! Not complain to me!
Ann Dexter is a thief who did not speak to me before she ran the
unauthorized charge on my card. And when I called her and told her
to refund the disablity money back to me, she refused to listen
to reason. Now these people have stolen from me and they need to
be exposed for bad business practices. They have been reported to
Attorney General Steve Six and the BBB. They are nothing more
than a taxi service with no business nor medical expertise!
If you have to swipe $60 from a disabled person without speaking to
them about WHY it wasn't paid in the first place? You are no different
than a scammer who steals money! You should not be trusted to handle
financial transactions in any capacity. I still want my money back,
because you are still not qualified to be around helpless yet trusting patients.
May this caveat teach you a lesson you won't forget. And many sleepless nights to all three of you!

Overcharge and False Promises
I continue to be charged for internet services 9 months after the contract ended. This after formal letters to the Corporate headquarters, phone calls, email, etc. In September the sales rep was sent to my office to attempt to sell me a bigger advertising package. After another sales pitch he acknowledged that I was not willing to continue and promised that there would be no more charges. December I was incurring more charges and I was assured by an accounts supervisor that the account is closed. This is January and I am still receiving billings for advertising.
Steer clear of this company at all costs.

Avoid this company
So I got this call from some guy saying that he wanted to sell me "health care" because my husband and I can't afford it. Here's what I found. I looked up "Healthcare Plan of America" on the Better Business Bureau. They gave the company an "F". Here's the website (put in Healthcare Plan of America for the business name):
http://www.bbbsoutheastflorida.org
An "F". Don't be a retard. Avoid.
