I saw this website: https://www.cleanwhites.com/?partner=_promo. I ordered a sample teeth whitening product called 'clean whites" from HealthCLNS on 9/8/09 via the web. It was sample price of 99 cents. When they called later that day to confirm the order, they tried to get me to agree to an automatic reorder of the product. I specifically told the agent that I did not want any kind of automatic order, that I would try the product and re-order if I liked it. The product does not work so I had no intention of reordering it.
When I received my credit card statement on 9/29/09, I saw a $79.95 charge from HealthCLNS dated 9/21/09. I called their number 877-292-6892. After about 20 minutes someone answered. I identified myself and asked them to explain the $79.95. She told me the 99 cents was a 'trial offer' and I was supposed to cancel it within 14 days or they would charge me the full price of $79.95.

The agent said she canceled future charges and gave me a cancelation reference number. I asked her for a refund of the $79.95 but she said they would not give it because I did not cancel within 14 days. The product had been presented as a 99 cent trial not a $79.95 trial and there was no mention of a "14 day return or else pay full price" catch when I ordered the product. So ended up having to do a dispute with my credit card company.

I was supposedly to have a 14 day trial of their product and was promptly billed 79.95 without the trial being up.
