I have 2 Leos from Heart 'N Soul (Rachel Dolan- breeder), a female and a male and they just turned 4 last weekend. They have had no health issues of any kind and our Vet has told us that they are perfect examples of the breed, very healthy, happy dogs! We have found that Leos are exceptional pets, especially compared to the several other breeds we've had in our lives. We visited 2 different times to observe and interact with the puppies and the other Leonbergers before purchasing and they all seemed to be very well treated and cared for. Rachel and her husband made us feel very comfortable, answered all of our questions, addressed our concerns and actually asked us to contact other breeders, the Leonberger Club of America website and veterinarians to gather as much information as we could about the breed before deciding to add them to our family. I've had email interactions with Rachel and other buyers of her pups for various information and/or questions before and after purchasing our puppies and I found them to be very knowledgeable and helpful! Rachel not only recommended that since we purchased litter mates that we get them both fixed to prevent inbreeding, but insisted it be part of our purchase contract with her. Heart ‘N Soul considers line breeding a very important part of their kennel and keeps the integrity of the breed foremost in their mind. We have experienced no problems with Heart 'N Soul in the years since purchasing our puppies and have only seen positive relationships between them and their buyers.
