Heartland Career Partners Reviews

Misleading - Bait-And-Switch
Summary:
I felt they were misleading, did not disclose costs upfront and I was not impressed with the services offered (FYI: I did not choose to purchase anything).

Detailed Account:
I was recently contacted by Heartland Career Partners as well. Initially, the caller identified herself as the Office Administrator, setting appointments for interviews with an executive member of the staff. Later I found that she is the wife of the listed President/CEO of the company (I find that interesting, but not criminal). What really annoys me is the way in which the company representative presented her call. She said (and I paraphrase): "We found your resume on [employment site - can't remember which] and think you would be a great candidate for our company. We would like to schedule you to come in for an interview with one of our representatives." That was about it. In my opinion, she made it sound as if they were an employment agency that wanted me to come in for an interview, with the intent to take me on as a client and farm me out to hiring companies they contract with. There was no mention of costs, services to sell or anything. I ended that call under the impression that I had an interview with an employment agency. Later, when I got her email telling me how to get there - I did some research on the company and found this complaint (along with one other). I dug a little deeper and found out about the "Office Administrator" being the wife of the CEO and the "company representative" I was to meet with was actually the President/CEO himself. Again, not necessarily criminal - but to me, surely odd and all of it - misleading. Once I found out about the oddities, I sent an email response to the Office Administrator, asking her to explain the online complaints / allegations of fraud and to admit it if there were costs - basically: Are they having me come in for an interview to help me out like a standard employment agency or were they trying to sell me stuff? I also said that if I did not get a response, I would assume that this was a "bait and switch" style scam (tempt me into coming in for a potential job only to try and bilk me out of money for various services later) and that I would report them to various legal entities. In response to that, the Office Administrator (wife), put me in contact with the President/CEO (Husband). To their credit - they did then admit that they were attempting to sell me services but maintained that they were not intending to defraud anyone. I explained how the wife's initial call was misleading - the husband reiterated that they did not intend to mislead. Again, to their credit, the Husband agreed to send me a price list and explanation of services. He did want me to come in for a couple of hours so he could explain what his company does, in person (even offered to reimburse me for my gas costs) but I decided that was unnecessary, opting instead to receive any exchange by email - to create a traceable record of our conversations. In the end - my opinion is that this company isn't outright defrauding people (you do get some services for your money - I cannot speak to the effectiveness of said services, though I was not impressed with their marketing materials and chose not to buy); but I still retain the feeling that their initial contact call is misleading with a "bait-and-switch" style of feel to it. I advised / requested that they change their initial call from "We'd like you to come in for an interview" to something like "we think we can help you to improve your chances of getting a job by buying our services". I cannot say if they will do this but I hope - for the sake of their reputation and for the sake of desperate job seekers, that they will.

This Company is high pressure to get your money and basically worthless at delivering on any of the promises made in the sales pitch. Very high cost zero results. Total Scam
