One of the top breeders I know!
This is a comment to Terry: I have had the pleasure of doing business with this breeder since 2006. My Leo is now going on 5 yrs old, no health problems and a beautiful boy. I also have 3 other Leos that were from this line. They are wonderful pets, healthy and just crazy to love. This breeder has been with the LCA for many years and has done a wonderful job in keeping her pups and new owners up to date regarding any news information about health and safety awareness. If you visit her web site there are many happy faces and great information! She and her husband opened their door to me on several occasions when I was going cross country with my Leo. I have visited her home and have seen happiness and dogs with vitality, not only her Leos but also her other dogs! Yes, she has other breeds for pets, a Rotweiller and a Chow! As far as breeding "In line". There are breeders that will do this to keep certain traites for their line. I'm not sure where "Terry" is coming from with the critizism. How else would the Leonbergers be here????
I do remember when this owner's dog died from siezures. this dog has been the only one from Heart N Soul Leos to do this. She used Tick and Flea med (which HNS warns the new owners about!). There are many statements and discussions on the web regarding these CNS medications. If it's killing the ticks and fleas, what's it doing to your dog??? I do believe HNS sells their Leos at a price that is manageble, you are buyinig a living being, this keeps "MOST" of the potential worrysome owners away. The contract that the new owners need to strickly adhere to is awesome, it really makes sure that a pup has a new family that it will be safe with and cared for in the future. HNS Leos are European line, this way they are not as prone to bone cancer like the US Large breeds are. The larger the dog, the more problems you have, AND, I think 130 lb Leo is beautiful!! Who wants one that can't move!!
