My sister sent an arrangement of roses to me for my birthday. The flowers arrived on Friday, Sept. 24th and were placed on the front porch in 105+ degree heat. IF they knocked or rang bell, my husband did not hear them. At 5pm-ish, my husband found the dead, dying display and brought in to soak them.
I saw them and called the florist who has an answering device. I left a message that the flowers were DOA and I'd like them replaced. I recieved no call on Monday from florist. I left another message Monday evening.
I called Tuesday morning, 8:15 am, and told them the story, again. Man said they would replace and I should wait for delivery and return dead flowers. I waited ALL day. I called @ 4pm.
Jennifer said she did not get any such messages and began to explain how little money she was making on my flowers anyway, the difficulty of delivering when people aren't home, the price of gas, the inter-net sites were making all the money and she made near nothing... BUT, she's get me new flowers the following day but had no intention of giving me a general time since NONE of this was HER fault and now she's losing money sending me more flowers.
I stopped her lament and said, "I am the giftee. I didn't call to be led into hyperventilation over your business troubles, I just want my gift in good condition with no hassles."
Jennifer butts in, "See? I can hear from your voice that you are calm and NOT hyperventilating. YOU exaggerate! So I am sure you exaggerate about the flowers. Those are probably fine, too."
It went down hill from there. I did not want new flowers from Jennifer and Heavenly Flowers anymore after this verbal spanking...I wanted my sister refunded her MONEY! I eventually told Jennifer that she ought not accept deliveries too difficult to service and she needed to work on her customer service skills. She hung up on me.
Today, i called and Jennifer told me I told her that I didn't want any flowers and that was fine with her. I reminded her that i wanted the money refunded to my sister which she flatly refused.
Since my sister made the purchase with a credit card, I am certain this will get resolved...and I know my sister made a best effort to send me birthday gift. I love my sister and thank her for the thought but in this economy NONE of us can afford frivolity unless it comes with EXCELLENCE!
These lousy .coms and cheesy florists ought to go out of business and allow nothing but artists in the fields bloom.
If this had been 1 800Flowers or FTDFlorists I would have had a replacement, an apology PLUS a $$ off coupon for my next purchase. It is time to be very careful and use the best who will back their product.
Sincerely,
Kyle Tobin-Williams
