Terrible experience
I purchased a 2006 Ford Mustang GT from Henry Curtis Ford in Petaluma CA. In the agreement I signed, they were to put racing stripes on it. They sent it to Maaco on Commercial Ave in Santa Rosa and they did a really poor job. The stripe edges are not smooth (poor appearance and thick rough edges), there was dirt in the paint (rough), they didn't sand it (will start chipping within a couple of years) and there is overspray all over my rims. I have taken it to 3 body shops in Santa Rosa and got estimates to fix it but it is a lot more to fix their mistakes than it would have been to just put the stripes on originally. The 3 estimates range from $3, 500 to $5, 500 to do the job correctly. I showed the vehicle to Ford and they agreed that they did a very poor job but want to send it back to Maaco to fix the problem for $500 which is what they told me is all the money they are willing to spend. I fear if I don't send it to a reputable body shop with a life time warranty which all three I got estimates from offer, Maaco will do a quick, cheap fix and in 2 or 3 years before I am even done paying off the car, It will look awful and start chipping. It already is in the very back and I just had it done a week ago. I bought the car for 15, 000. and within a week they ruined it by sending it to the cheapest place they could find that has a very poor reputation.
