I purchased a extended warranty contract from Heritage 10/10/02 for my 1999 Acura TL.
I had my first claim on 3/7/2007 for a EGR valve gasket and o-ring for $247.07 this claim was paid.
On 3/10/2008 I had a claim for a auto dimming rear view mirror that the dealer(Zimbrick Acura)
got the authorization for and they performed the work. It wasn't until 9/08 that I took my car in for maintence and a check up because I knew my warranty was going to expire 10/10/08. I was told by Zimbrick service personnal that they had not been paid for the 3/10/08 mirror and that in trying to collect where told that Heritage was bankrupt. Because of this information, Zimbrick didn't apply for a authorization number. Zimbrick discovered a leaking head gasket witch would have been covered by my extended warrenty. I had to pay the bill of $1049.34 plus tax. When the claims number on the policy was called they claimed to be a third party and were of no help. The claims processing company couldn't or wouldn't give a number to contact Heritage. So Zimbrick is still stuck with the $126.03 for the mirror they installed, and I am stuck with a $1049.34 bill that I had to pay. The ironic part is that I sold this policy to myself though my auto consulting firm, (Excel Automotive Consulting Inc.) the policy # is 191885 dated 10/10/2002. I believe that I should still have a valid claim based on the facts given me by Zimbrick Acura.
