It is other way to accept credit card but they need cash to avoid pay tax.

Rude Employee
I want to file a formal complaint against the employees (particularly a young late 20s early 30s employee with glasses) at the HESS gas station located at 207 Highland Ave, Needham Heights, MA 02494. This incident occurred on Monday, February 28, 2011 at approximately 12:45 PM.

Being from New Hampshire, I went to this station to attempt to purchase gasoline.

Upon using my DEBIT card, I was noticing the pump shutting off three times for reasons to which I did not know about.

One transaction charged me 8 cents for which NO gasoline entered my vehicle.

I was greeted by a very rude and obnoxious attendant who crassly informs me that my vehicle is facing the wrong direction and that he was shutting my gas pump off…creating multiple debit card transactions onto my account.

Upon turning my car around, now the gas pump is refusing my debit card due to the shutoff that this employee was doing.

This employee was extremely rude to me and created a hostile and intimidating experience which I have never received as a customer.

Going to this particular gas station for the very first time, I was so intimidated by this employee that I stated that I will NEVER buy ANYTHING from this Needhan Heights Hess station ever again. I purchased fuel from another competitor gas station instead.

In the meantime, I have three very questionable debit card transactions from this gas station.

I would like this employee terminated from his job. It is very obvious that he is incapable of being civil to the customers of this station, and that this experience tells me a lot about the people from Needham (and Boston).

I will never patronize this gas station ever again.

very rude cashiers
when you come inside the store as you getting ready to walk up to the counter to buy lotto tickets and scratch-offs there are this young female cashier that wears glasses would always say what what what do you want with a straight face. I would respond holding my composure not to get upset from her rudeness. I ask i would like to buy some scratch-offs and a couple of quick picks. she said no i can not sale any more lotto scratch-offs. I said why it is just turning 9:00pm and this would make the third time i came inside this gas station around 9:00pm and could not buy any lotto. she responed saying the shift is changing now so no lotto for tonight here at this store. Then i ask what happen to 10:00pm was shut off time for lotto and scratch-offs. Then the other cashier responded saying it is only like this on weekends.I said that is not true because i have came on week days around 9;00pm and it is the same old things that goes on at that store. Im very unhappy with HESS GAS STATION... I hope a store MANAGER handle these problems.

Bees at pump
This gas station is swarmed with bees at every pumps. When I asked the employees for bee spray they didn't have any & didn't care. I had to get my kids out of the car & wait to get bees out of my car before being able to drive to another gas station down the road. I'm sorry but you shouldn't have to worry about getting stung by bees when going to the gas station and it's an obvious problem!!

customer treatment
there are 3 employess that are absolutly incompentent at this location! 1st is a woman about 50-60 who yells at customers has money counting issues and generally a veryu very poor attitude towards everyone entering this store. 2nd is a man in his 30s whom is always in bathroom the entire facilty smells from his constant usage of restroom area! he also cannot count money even though the register is equipped to automatically do so if he could manage to put the correct numerals in to begin with! very poor customer service as well as very poor oral and physical hygeine-i dont like to touch the change he returns to me so always try to have exact amounts to get thru the half hour ordeals with him!lastly this gentleman and i use that term very loosely is incapable of doing 2 things at once such as saying how may i help you and pushing the button so the customer can begin pumping fuel. he once again has extremly poor mannerisms verbally abusive towards customers and i am shocked that this location maintains any business especially when there are several differant companies to choose from. those i have spoken with agree with me and state the only time they patron this local is out of desperation! now whomever owns this place should really do an overhaul and rehire or retrain existing staff in the basic qualities of humanism! good manners decent hygeine-the economys bad but come on 16 year olds would do a much better job with more respect and cleanliness. i hope someone will respond to this on going problem or your doors could close next i know my business is going elsewhere even if i have to drive an extra 50 miles-its well worth it! also im not alone so straighten it up or get ready to lose more business.

Lottery Machine attitude
I have went to this gas station a number of times to buy lottery tickets, the young lady (Katie)on duty tired 5 times to run the ticket, told me the machine always has problems . The only time the machine has problems is when she is working, it seems she is just about the only employee that does not know how to operate the machine, she has given me the name of other places to go to get my tickets. Also I think this young lady needs to be re-trained on operation of the machine. Also this last time she ask me if I could read all the numbers off the ticket so she could put them in the machine(rather time consuming). Thank you for your attention to this matter.

clerk refusal to give change/ receipt
On 1/27/09 at approx 10:40 pm, my son stopped to fill the tank in my car before returning it to me. He put $6.00 cash in the tank and then wanted to use my card to finish filling it. He went in the store and the clerk asked him how much, so he said $20.00. The clerk handed the prepaid receipt for $20.00 but when he was done filling the car (which only took $18.25 more), he went inside to collect the change and/or get the new receipt.

The clerk told him that it would be returned onto his card but would not give him another receipt for the gas that he pumped (BTW...they took the whole $20.00).

My husband went back to speak with the manager and she said that the clerk filed a complaint against my son because he was acting suspicious and he tried to buy cigarettes with an ID that showed he was only 17 yrs old. But she couldn't find the complaint paperwork or the copy of the driver's license (the clerk alledgely copied the ID before giving it back), etc...

When asked about the change, she said that he probably already gave it to my son and my son just wanted to keep the money for himself and said that my husband was getting rude with her (you just accused my son of lying).

So my husband said that if he didn't give my son the change then his drawer should be over at the end of his shiftk right? She said that it was actually short that night. Doesn't that raise a red flag??? And what happened to all the surveillance tapes that are in all those cameras every where?

Now if this clerk does this kind of scam (or theft as I would call it) to 10 people a night @ $2.00 a pop...that's 20 dollars cash that he does not have to claim and scammed out of our pockets ( i don't know about you but I work hard for my money and with five children to raise, I need every penny).

Whatever happened to the customer is right? Or even customer courtesy? I will not go back to that gas station again...EVER!!!

Filthy Bath Room
I told the cash register person that the bath room was out of supplies and he stated well, it can't be restocked until tomorrow.
This occured at 18:23 on 5-02-o8.
I could tell that this was nothing new to him, as he was quite indifferent to it.
In his country this is normal as I lived in India as an American child.
However, here, standards should be maintained.
Thank you.

On going problem that never gets resolved
This stations computer for gas pumps are forever being "down". We entered our debit card # and it says sale cancelled. Today March 4 2008 at the Hess station #9453 on Roosevelt Blvd, Largo FL 2 customers walked out because of this same reason. We have doing business with the station for 5 yrs and this seems to be an on going problem that never gets resolved.
