Poor Customer Service
The attendant on duty- Sam according to my receipt- at this gas station was incompetent and abrasive. I was using a company Fleet card, entered the information in the pump, and got ready to fuel. I'm from NJ and don't have much experience pumping my own gas, and I couldn't figure out why the gas wasn't pumping, so I called him over for assistance. He figured out that the pump lever wasn't up, but instead of helping me pump, he canceled my transaction and brought the card into his kiosk to do the transaction from there. WHY WAS THAT NECESSARY?? It was the first time I used the card, so I didn't realize, but we had a limit inside at the kiosks but not at the pump. SO when I went to pay it said transaction denied- exceeds limit. HE, in his limited English, started blaming ME, and threatened to call the cops. I called my boss, and she informed me that it was only valid at the pump, which I initially tried to do anyway, not to mention she said he should definitely know that. I tried to let him know why it wasn't working, but he refused to listen, and instead again threatened to call the cops, even though I said I would pay by credit card if the card didn't go through. AGAIN, WHY WAS THAT NECESSARY?? Cops? I wasn't exactly threatening to get in my car and drive off without paying. I ended up paying with my credit card when the whole point of the company card was to avoid such transactions and reimbursements. The whole time he acted as if it was my fault, when all I wanted was a little help with the actual gas pumping, not the transaction itself. He had very poor manners and provided terrible customer service, and should not be working a job that involves service of any kind.
