Mac OS 10.6 has been out for almost 9 months and HP does not have a drive for scanjet 4890. In Sept HP said it would be out in Nov '09. Now the spring. Typical... If you think I'd buy another HP scanner you're not thinking clearly. My son-in-law is running Mac OS 10.6 and his Epson scanner just works.
