Disgusting service
I purchased a NEW Hp computer tower in Feb. 2010. Not long after a month--the screen froze up on me--the screen would go blank--SLOOOW getting from one page to another--plus other things. I e-mailed Hp tech support. They e-mailed me back saying I should do this and do that. I e-mailed them back saying I was not about to do anything. It is a BRAND New computer-I am not a computer whiz by any means. We have gone back and forth so many times. Finally I got an e-mail from tech support or whatever saying I should call customer care. I did and after 93+ minutes--the computer was fixed alright--it didn't work at all!! Then the lady that was helping me wanted me to stay on the line for another 20 minutes. I said no way and hung up. I called back the next Monday and had to totally re-do my computer as if it was brand new--didn't help much at all. It is now Oct. 2010--I got a box to send it back to Hp to fix whatever. As far as I'm concerned they can keep it. I am totally disgusted with Hp and won't buy anything with that name again.

HP 6100 scanner software does not work with MAC OS OS X Leopard 15
HP is telling Snow Leopard users they should simply throw away this "all-in-one" printer and by a NEW one. They are not planning to support the scan function of this model.
If HP doesn't support what it sells, then they can expect we might replace our printer but not with one from THEIR company.
Too bad. We are part of a large university community and this will affect a large number of HP purchases. Huge customer service FAIL and terrible for the environment as well.

Poor worksmanship and worst customer service
I bought an HP laptop 14 months back. within 2 months, the AC adapter went bad; HP sent me a new one. within 8 months of buying, the keyboard went bad, some keys stopped functioning. Now, the screen went blank which looks like either a motherboard or LCD problem. When I called HP customer service, they said there is nothing they can do about it, since the laptop is out of warranty period. Its not about warranty or no warranty, its about poor quality and their use of cheap parts in their products which I am pissed about. I have a dell laptop which is more than 5 yrs old and the only thing I have changed in it is the battery. I made a mistake buying HP laptop and I am writing this here to warn people against buying a crappy product such as HP.

Defective laptop and damges done by helpdesk
Dear Sir's,
My company variant Corporation purchased this new laptop from HP authorised dealer in South Extension Part-2, New Delhi, model no. HP Compaq-420 (Serial No.SCNU015CHJ).
This laptop started fuctioning poorley only after 10-15 days of its purchase date. Th complaint was registered with ther authorised dealer whose address is given below. This dealer sent his person to my place for repairment but that engineer damaged the keyboard while opening the laptop and was unsucessful in repairing the problem too.
Since the first day of my complaint I have been asking HP to replace my laptop as it is under warranty and I cannot carry a repaired laptop which i just bought but no one ever listens. I have been searching HP email id s and contact details to register a complaint but nothing is given on their site.
The dealer has now gone against and is not agreeing to replace or even repair the laptop and says that I need to talk to HP directly. I do not understand how can someone force such a big company to come to my home to repair it. Further I have also registered complaints in HP customer care whose responses are even poorer.
I request you to take strict action against HP-India for keeping such stupid dealers in their contacts and supplying defective pieces to the consumer.
Address of the Authorised Dealer from whom I purchased the Laptop:
Micro Clinic India Pvt. Ltd.
302, South Ex Center
273, Masjid Moth,
South Ex-II, New Delhi 110049
Fax No : 26252258
I request you to please take strict action against them as i am facing serious problems in my business and can't afford further delays with such kind of nusance given by such a big name company called HP.
Regards
Bhaskar mishra

Well I can only say - their service is pathetic
Some months ago my laptop started giving trouble. I thought it was the Hard Drive and had it tested (twice at different companies) and was told that it was not the Hard Drive. I then did some research and found the the model of my Laptop was experiencing problems with the motherboard. This confirmed in my opinion the findings of the two people who tested it. Well then I found the local HP 'Partner' in town - Incredible Connection. The Laptop was sent to HP to get a quote and believe it or not - they insist that it was a faulty Hard Drive. After a misunderstaning between HP and IC I eventually received my laptop back (2 mths later) - Paid R1 200 for the replaced hard drive just to find the the 'tested' laptop is still not working - not reading the hard drive. Took it back - now two weeks later HP has still not replaced the faulty hard drive - wants to quote me AGAIN, this I was told by IC. When I tried to speak to HP they refused - saying that I must speak to IC. The instruction was very clear - replaced Hard drive not working - that is what HP should do - FIX IT. Well I can only say - their service is pathetic. I have been without my laptop 3 mths already!!!

HP misrepresents their printers
Bought an HP printer that their marketing material said could use a photo cartridge, material packaged with the printer said to use photo cartridge, when put photo cartridge in printer would not work, said cartridge was incompatible. Now HP says f2210 printer does not support photo cartridge, although list of supported printers on ink cartridge box says 2210. They offered a refund on cartridge, but not on printer.

They offer no compensation, just a few smart remarks
I contacted Hp the end of April 2010 due to motherboard issues with my 2yr old laptop. They agreed to repair the laptop for $250 inclusive (they ended up charging my credit card $277) they sent me the packaging and shipping instructions so I could mail it back to them for repairs and when fixed they would FedEx my laptop back to me. I shipped it off and a week later they sent it back to me. When I received it I was preparing to go out of town for a few days so I didn’t have a chance to use my laptop (it was taken out of the packaging), 5 days after receiving the laptop I was returning home from out of town I received a call from FedEx advising me that they might have sent me someone else’s laptop (same brand as mine, but not as upgraded as mine) and that my laptop was sent to the other customer. After two conversations with Jean at Hp I expressed to her how upset I was and that they were playing it off to be nothing when indeed this is a big issue that my personal laptop that contained my personal records was in the hands of a complete stranger and I don’t take this lightly. They offer no compensation, just a few smart remarks. With the amount of identity theft occurring and people trying to keep their computers safe from strangers HP handed my person PC over to a stranger and show no concern about it nor offered any compensation for how they unconvinced they are putting me through. I thought my laptop was in responsible hands.

DV9000 Overheats
Hewlett Packard and Nvidia Corporation has knowingly sold defective laptops. The laptops overheat and sometimes catch fire. HP is only fixing some of the laptops. I have been told my laptop will NOT be fixed. there is a class action suit against HP and the latest is that a judge has ruled in HP's favor. That ruling is being challenged. In November of 2007, HP and Nvidia Corporation knew about the problem. I purchased in 2008. There is an "extended warranty" available for only "certain" video chips. The video chips affected are much more than HP and Nvidia claim. Please see www.hplies.com for all the facts. I contacted HP service and was told that my laptop will NOT be repaired. However, if I send it with $300 it will be fixed. Then of course, 18months later the laptop will overheat and the video chip will fail due to design failure.

Awful after sale service, scam you from your money
My 3 1/2 year HP Notebook computer stopped working and the warranty had expried 6 months before. After talking with Hewlett Packards technical support on the phone, I agreed to pay $300 for them to repair the computer, which they said would be a complete refurbish of the computers hardware. When I received the computer back, all they had done was replace the harddrive, which I could have done myself for about $70. I have contacted Enid, my case worker and even wrote a letter to Mr. Mark Hurd, the president of HP but have gotten no response from anyone at HP. My case number is 6300589744.

video went out
I purchase a HP Pavilion dv 6700 the end of April 2008, and I now have to replace the Laptop because the video card went bad. This is after Not getting a $175.00 rebate after checking on it three times, and replacing the Power pack to the tune of $70.00 all told this computer has cost me almost $400.00 a year to use. I think that make HP a very Poor value for the Money. and I will tell anyone that will listen, how poor a value HP is for your computer buying dollar, and suggest, that they Look to other brands. My Toshbia lasted 8 years
