Terrible everything
My husband bought me a CQ50Z notebook as a gift, I had it for ONE week when it went kablooey. When I contacted HP & finally got put through to Tech Support the guy said he had never heard a computer make that sound. They sent me a box to ship it back for repair & ever since then it's been a headache. This started on Aug 26 my first phone call, they received my laptop on Aug 29 and the date for delivery back to me was Sept 9. I started making phone calls to customer service 2 days before the due date, no one in customer service could tell me anything about what was happening, all they would say was that it would be to me on the 9th & that the web page didn't get updated often. On the 10th (the day after it was supposed to be back to me) & after an hour & a half on the phone with customer service (being hung up on, transferred 6 times, told I was just a CUSTOMER & managers did not talk to just customers) I finally got what they call a case manager!!! While he was checking into everything which of course took 2 days it was Fri the 12th & the hurricane was going to hit Houston (where my laptop was) & everyone was being evacuated so I would have to wait till Mon the 15th to learn anything. Mon comes & the case manager (CM) said to give it one more day because they were not back yet because of the storm. Tues he said that they still knew nothing & offered me a replacement upgraded laptop. Told me to call him Wed with my answer. Called Wed the 17 & oh geee even though I wanted the upgraded laptop they ran out & couldn't do it anymore ... so sorry. But!! they couold build me the upgraded laptop but it would be 3 weeks. AGAIN call me Thurs & let him know. Called Thurs the 18th & said build me the upgrade ... OH NO never said that ... said they would build me the same laptop that I had sent them. Told him I was tired of being jacked around & give me a refund ( I now have this conversation taped!!!) Said he would check into that & it would take 5 weeks for my refund. But does it end there ... Heavens NO ... Got a call from my CM later Thurs night with ... are you ready for this ... " Just had word from the powers that be No Refunds & No Replacements until Houston is back up & running & they know whats going on!!! I will NEVER but anything from HP again & will tell everyone I know what my experience has been like.

Piece of junk
In all the years I've ever dealt with technical customer service, I would have to say that HP is the worst! I bought an OfficeJet J6480 from the HP website. I immediately had problems with it from day one. The off button doesnt work (you have to unplug it!), the top loader doesn't load, so I cannot fax anything, and when I print, there are black streaks on the page. The customer service bozos continually passed me off to other reps who repeatedly asked me for the same information. They refused to give a refund and only when I agreed to an exchange did I find out that they were going to send me a REFURBISHED printer instead!! I paid full price for a brand new printer, I dont expect to get some used piece of junk to replace it. I had it with HP. I cancelled the exchange and I demanded a refund. Do not buy the HP officejet j6480. It's a piece of junk. Don't trust the HP customer service. Even though I purchased this item DIRECTLY from the company online, (not at a store), they still had trouble finding and verifying my order and seemed incompetent when it came to providing quality customer service. Email me if you care to hear more...

No customer service
I bought My labtop in September 27th 2007. On around January 12th 2008 my computer broke and I had to send it in to Hewitt Packard for repair. I found out that my Mother Board was broken and needed to be replaced. I had to wait around a month to get it back. I filed a complaint because they kept delaying the return date and I got a case manager someone who is supposed to be able to help you they told me he would call me back in 48 hours he took over one week to call me back and he didnt even call me back I had to get into contact with him. When I got into contact with him he said theres nothing I can do to help you pretty much you just have to wait. I finally get my labtop back on Febuary 17th but when I get it back it lasts a few days and breaks again I send it in again because the mother board broke again. They recieved it March 5th and I had to keep complaining to my case manager I want my labtop fixed I am a studnet in college I cannot not have my labtop for weeks and weeks. He did nothing to help me again the date of return kept being delayed and I did not recieve my labtop until April 3rd 2008. During the second time it was in for repair my case manager pretty much ignored my phone calls until I called the corporate office and told them to have him call me back and that was the only time I would get a call back probably in the almost 3 months it was in for repair the case manager called me 3 times while I called at least 20 times. So pretty much I got no customer service. Hewitt Packard is not a company I will ever do business with again.

Customer Servuce
I recently purchased a defective ink cartridge from Wallmart and after trying to exchange the cartridge, I was told to call HP. I have been on the phone for about one hour now, checking, documenting and securing all the necessary information for a simple exchange! I explained to someone on the other side of the world that my machine was fine, it's just the cartridge, but no, that wasn't enough. I had to run test, reset my printer, read off status reports, search for warranty dates, tell him my address and reconfirm my address and I'm still on HOLD!... HEY HEWLET-PACKARD...ARE YOU PAYING THESE PEOPLE BY THE MINUTE??? IS SO...ARE YOU HIRING!

Cracked monitor screen
We purchased an HP G series late February 2009. Woke up one day and the screen was cracked. We contacted HP, they sent us a fed-ex box to return for repair. A week later we received a call from a rep stating the damage was accidential and caused by us. All we did was open the laptop, there was no problem hours earlier. I have called HP 4 times and they will not pay for the monitor, but said they would repair it for $400.00????? I asked to speak with a supervisor and was told I could not. I asked to speak with anyone in authority, I was told I could not. There needs to be a way for some type of class action complaint against HP to have them repair this problem. I see so many other sites with people with the same problem. Please help.

HP Plasma Lawsuit
I was watching out 51' HP Plasma when I heard a pop and the screen went out. I could hear sound, just no picture. I investigated to find solutions, only to find out that there is a known problem with their plasma tv products. HP needs to issue a recall on these products and have them serviced since the problem is known to them.

Fraudulent company
I purchased an HP LaserJet P2015 printer from Staples in late June 2008. After about seven months of operation, it developed a mechanical defect and needed repair under warranty. You would think that you could bring the printer back to Staples and that they would either repair it and bill HP for the work or forward the printer to HP for repair. Nope. Consumers are forced to mail the printer back to Hewlett Packard in California. At this point, you would think that HP would cover the return shipping costs or would send consumers a pre-paid shipping box. Nope. Consumers are forced to cover the cost of shipping the defective unit all the way to California.
In my case, it would have cost about $30 to have the printer boxed and shipped. HP offers a service where they will send a replacement printer to the consumer and then pay to have the defective printer shipped back to HP. However, this service costs $57 (including the tax). Thus, at a minimum, consumers are forced to pay about $30 and go to the labor of packing up the product and then waiting several days (or weeks) for shipment in both directions. Paying the $57 does reduce the amount of time that the consumer has to live without a printer, but it is a lot to pay for fixing a defect that is not the consumer's fault and is supposed to be covered under warranty. In my view, a warranty is not a true warranty if the consumer has to go to that much expense and trouble to obtain repair service.

HP Officejet J3680 All-in-One
I received this product as a birthday gift and when I went to set it up, firstly I couldn't because there was a high speed cable required that was not included with the product, and nowhere in the packaging was it listed as required. The cable cost an additional $24.00! Then, when I hooked everything up, I couldn't figure out the directions to configure the scanning mechanism so I contacted live chat support and was told that the product was not compatible with my Wondows 98 software and would not work! This seems like a bait and switch scam to get me to upgrade my software, which is perfectly fine for the purposes I need except this.

Will not furbish BIOS update
My problem stems from HP's customer service representatives. They are rude, impersonal, and have an air of superiority about them. I am a computer technician by trade and have been doing this for over 12 years. In fact I've been working with computers since I was 4 years of age, back on the old IBM PC/XT 8086. I have never... NEVER... had a problem getting a bios update for a product IN MY LIFE!!! I couldn't download the f.1f critical bios update from HP's web site and no reason was given. I got on the phone with someone... even after explaining I had a customer in my shop, he continued to ask for my info. All I needed was the BIOS download. He could have just e-mailed it to me. No, he couldn't, because of HP's scandalous company wants me to send HP the laptop... most likely pay shipping both ways, AND pay $298 dollars for something I could do in my sleep. EVERY OTHER COMPUTER MANUFACTURER WILL FURBISHED ME WITH ANY DRIVER OR UPDATE I NEED. But not HP... HP makes me sick. And what is worse, is as soon as I got agitated, HP's rep hung up on me. What got my angered, was he kept cutting me off in mid sentence, as if my opinions and concerns weren't even remotely important. After I told him to stop interrupting me, he permanently interrupted me in mid sentence by hanging up. I will never buy another of HP's products... and am now discontinuing to work on HP's units, which will decrease my business by over 50%... not out of spite, but because I can't properly repair something if I can't get what I need to do so. I hope HP likes making working stiffs like me starve and struggle for every dime. How can HP tell their customers, that only they can repair your computer and you'll have to spend more doing that than it would cost you to buy another unit. If my customer were to send HP his unit, pay for shipping... BOTH WAYS... and pay HP's exorbitant rate... he could buy a brand new Acer Aspire Laptop with better specs and better service and repair record. MicroCenter sells them for $400.
