Parking nightmare
I booked Hilton LAX parking based on recommendations from http://www.airport-la.com. I chose covered self-parking and pre-paid the required amount via credit card. They state 'FREE airport shuttle 24/7'. When I arrived I was told to go to the garage and park on level 4 or 5. After passing rows upon rows of empty spots in valet parking on levels 1 - 3, I spent 20 minutes driving around levels 4, 5 and 6 trying to find one spot. Nothing. There was no one to help you find open spots, no signs. Maybe I missed one row and there was one spot somewhere but I couldn't find anything. So I drive back up to valet and tell them that and the manager on duty tells me there are plenty of spots available because he looked himself the day before. Well now I am running late for my flight so I have to do valet parking and I am informed that I will have to pay the difference when I come to collect my car. I do not want to miss my flight so I just did valet. There are supposed to be shuttle busses going every 15 minutes. After 10 minutes one bus came but there were too many people ahead of me waiting and no room. So I had to take a cab and pay for it in order to check in on time for my flight.

Upon my arrival back to LAX I waited at the hotel bus area to be picked up. After 20 minutes of waiting I could see an LAX/hilton bus coming. I waved to flag down the driver and the driver went flying past me. So I called the Hilton to find out why the bus didn't stop. The person who answers the phone tells me that the bus is not required to stop for me anyway since I am not a hotel guest. I said, "but it says on the website that I get free shuttle service for parking there." He says, "talk to the manager, I can't help you." So another 20 minutes go by and finally another LAX/Hilton bus stops. Over an hour after I landed I finally arrive at the Hilton... which is less than a mile from the airport. I spoke to a different manager who says, "sorry... I don't know why you had so much trouble but I know we were quite full the day you came to park." He also told me that I was allowed to used the airport shuttles and didn't know why the person who answered the phone would say that. As I am waiting for my car (took 20 minutes) another customer came to pick up his car and there was a flat tire. DO NOT PARK HERE!!! They are unorganized and don't care about helping people.
