Sick kittens
Beware of this breeder. We were so stupid and I dont want anyone else to make the same mistake. Long story, I found a breeder not to far from home. Loved the website with the beautiful pictures of the kittens. The website claimed how the kittens interact with the family and it is a "Christian" home. So, my husband decide to get a kitten for my daughter who is 8 as my older cat wants nothing to do with her. She is an older sweet cat set in her ways. My husband, daughter and I go get our kitten. This is our first experience with any kind of breeder. This was a surprise to our daughter. She had no idea what we were doing. The breeder brings out this adorable kitten. Now I new the kitten had a "little" cold the breeder told me on the phone and she has him on antibiotics. I said ok. My daughter is holding this beautiful little kitten and she asks to see the rest of them. We all go upstairs and the are ALL sick. One older cat has fluid dripping from his eyes. It was horrible. I should have walked out right then and there. And the kitten didnt have his lost distemper shot. And to this day has not had it because he is still sick. It is 4 months later and I have spent many visits at the vet. I took Gizmo to the vet for the first vet check and the vet shook his head and told us we did the best thing for him by taking him out of that breeder. She had him on too much antibiotics for his weight. After about the 4 visit I emailed the breeder and she basically blamed me. Told me it was my decision to let the vet take my money that she has much stronger antibiotics to give him. This is from the same woman who was giving him too much. Also, he had fleas. The breeder claimed she contacted everyone else who adopted and no other kitten was sick. I find that hard to believe since last week at the vet there was a new patient with the same respiratory infection who got adopted from this breeder. She is adopting these kittens out under false pretenses. First, they dont interact with their family members, and of course they are all sick. She had them all on antibiotics. I guess I should have run when I saw the rest of the kittens but I didnt and here I am. We love Gizmo and he is a treasure.
