no services rendered
I purchased website design back in August 2009 from HIT Web Design and to this date (March 2010) still do not have a live website that is functional...I have canceled the account and let them know, they will not refund my $1000 deposit and they continue to charge me for hosting this account when I do not have a live website...the initial purchase of services have not been rendered from HIT web design to this date and the temp site looks like crap! I have had to go to another source for them to provide this service for me at additional expense. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY AS THEY ARE EXTREMELY BAD!
Regards,
Terry

Customer Service
After reading some of the post I feel kinda lucky, had no problems with them for 2 years, they cannot seem to fix a small but nagging issue w /the database which you would think would be a easy fix by professionals. My problem came during our busiest time of the year, data was just vanishing. I believed they had some corruption of data, said it was only my database that was affected, ( hard to believe.) Problem was finally resolved about week and a half later, I found out customer service is jammed, hard to get thru, it plain sucked. worst part of it, the rep said they would have to charge me for the time spent on fixing "my problem" he promptly got an earful from me, never seen a bill yet.

RIPPED ME OFF AND BBB, ATT GEN UTAH DOING NOTHING!
Back in June 2009, Hit web Design contacted me to build a website. It all was a lie, a fraud and I fell victim to their scam. I have posted here before, and have also, posted in Ripoff.com and complaints.com regarding the shady business practices of this particular company. To this date I still do not have a website that they are holding hostage. They stole my business name and never fully returned my money. BBB and Attorney general in Utah have done NOTHING about it. Please PLEASE PLEEEEEEEASE HEEEEEEELP! I am reading from time to time and keeping watch over the complaints and how these thieves rip people off ... and I'm sick! No one has done nothing to close them down to put them out of business. Why is it that they are still in business..???? I don't understand why the BBB and Attorney general in Utah has not closed them up permanently with the amount of complaints...?
Please advice as to where, what and to who can help. Thank you

Refund Policy
I am a soldier in the U.S. Army. I found out I was being deployed to Haiti in a moments notice and could not continue this website.
I spoke with a few people and let them know my dilemma at Hit Web Design and they said they would work on a refund for me. My site had not yet went live as the design part was being done.
The terms of service is so confusing and tricky that it is hard to understand. It leads you to believe you can get a refund if your site has not gone live that you would feel comfortable with trusting them incase of emergencies.
They said they would work on a refund for me and then sent me this e-mail after a week and a half:
"After a careful review of your account, we have determined that there is no refund available to you. This is in accordance with the Terms of Service (TOS) you accepted on the account as of 2009-12-28
If you have any questions please refer particularly to Section 32 of the Terms of Service that is located at http://www.hitwebdesign.com/tos.html. This paragraph will give you the reasoning into how the refund decision above was established.
**NOTE: Should you decide at any moment to reinstate your account please call or email me."
I was not even eligible for a 50% refund. I lost $500 for nothing. Most companies have policies for soldiers and humanitarian missions. so much for Hit Web Design's "Help Our Haiti Orphanage." They won't even support the troops helping in Haiti. Instead they say oh well it's not our problem your deploying. Were going to keep your money!

terrible service
I love how the "CEO" posts an email, as if they are truly concerned about complaints. It's all lies. After reading the posts on this site, I sent an email to the "CEO" of Hit Web Design. Never got a response-- not an email, not a phone call-- nothing. Pathatic.
Dear Hit CEO,
I don't understand how you can possibly continue to support the climate of incompetence at Hit Web Design. The fact that you defend the company online as if people's complaints have no merit, yet you obviously have done nothing to change the problems and implement simple customer service and appreciation. Do you know that every single time I call your company I am no less than caller number 12 on the wait list? I can wait for 45 minutes, and still never speak to anyone. I have had a simple revision needed on my site for months. I have emailed, called etc, and still the change has yet to be made. Why is that? And the sad fact is that I know it won't be changed. People ask me who did my site because they like the look, and I always say "don't bother to use them, it's a horrible company". As a radio personality, do you have any idea how many people I have turned away from your company because of the pathetic service I have gotten? It's just sad. My number is --------, should you decide to respond to my need. But at this point, I doubt it.

Customer Service
Recently we contracted to have this company design our website. If you are considering doing the same. run the other direction from this company. They are nothing but a bunch of people that can write code pretending to be designers. Their customer service is terrible. If you need any issue addressed, they will assign one person who in charge of appointing another person to designate anotehr person to try and fix the problem. I have been trying for 3 months to have professional logo added to my homepage.
The only thing they are good at is nickel and diming you to death. They sold me a full service package which we paid for. Now that we are trying to use the edit time we paid for, suddenly, it wasn't part of the package.
The project manager that worked on our site seems to either be heavily medicated or simply oblivious to how to interact with humans. I have sent multiple emails to his boss and never gotten any help.
You would be better off finding a high school student to do your website. They probably have more people skills and just as much computer knowledge.

Horrible Customer Service & I Still Don't Have a Completed Website
I started what I felt was going to be a great relationship with Hit Web Design back in July 2009. I was informed that it would take maybe a month or two to have a completed website exactly like the website I currently had. I asked my Sales Rep to take a look at our current site and I wanted it duplicated with a few color & picture changes and a video added. She had us sign a contract and we forked over $1200. As of right now we have had to pay extra for features that are on our current site because our contract did not specify these features which by the way we don't know the lingo and trusted that our sales rep was being honest about us getting exactly what we already had all for that $1200. We are now over the $2000 mark and guess what we still DON'T HAVE A COMPLETED WEBSITE!!! My Account Manager has changed to date 6-times and you aren't called by the new rep or informed that the old one is gone. Duties that the old rep was supposedly working on are left with no one following through. I actually called one time because I hadn't heard from my rep and they said he is no longer with the company and I asked them well who is my new rep and my account had not even been assigned a rep. Please save your money and time. I am not sure how this company is able to do business this way and still be in business.

bait and switch/poor design
My experience is similar to the others:
Charged for hosting months before the site was live
Insisted that, for a fee, their writer could create great text guaranteed to attract business; 3 months later, writer delivered atrocious and inappropriate text.
Then I generated my own extensive text, with notes added to the designer in a different color and font; the designer just pasted everything onto the website; didn't bother to read the text; put it live without asking me to review it first.
They keep changing the rules about how much "design" they'll do; now they don't even want to have the designer go through clipart to find the right graphics; they expect the client to wade through thousands of pictures; at least a dozen more hours on customer's part.

Fraudulent Business Practices
HIT - took 5 mos to design my site billing me for hosting when I didn't even have a designer assigned. I basically ended up doing it myself and turned my designs over to their designer. Overcharges galore - hours in que on hold for VERY POOR customer service. Authorized $125 charge for Tech Support - They took $500 from my credit card which was not refunded for days after several HOURS on hold for customer service. STAY AWAY from HIT -- they do NOT deliver what they promise. The only good thing about HIT is their sales people who make promises that are not kept.

HORRIBLE SERVICE, TOTAL SCAM ARTISTS
This company is horrible! They continue to over-promise and under-deliver (in some cases not deliver at all). They are only interested in collecting your money - once they do, you will experience hell just trying to get your website completed. They have an aggressive sales staff - it sounds like they operate a boiler room - a bunch of young, uneducated employees, that are great at "closing" you on their products/services but will completely ignore you once they collect your credit card.
It's been seven months and I still don't have a completed website!!!
Feel free to email me for more information about my experience. I'm a real person and will do everything that I can to ensure that nobody forks over their hard earned cash to this horrible company.
Email: [email protected]
Name: Rob
I can even tell you over the phone my experience to prove that I'm a real person!
