HIT Web Design Reviews

TERRIBLE company and service!!!
Ordered web design from them. It took FOREVER (months!) to get the design done. Then the REAL nightmare started, when we needed Tech Support. Repeated emails to Tech Support went unanswered. If you phone, you are put on hold for typically 30 minutes or more before getting "mysteriously" disconnected! Once when we managed to talk to someone they admitted they have one person (!!!) who reads the emails to Tech Support (and they could not explain why there were not answered); then they transferred us to Tech Support, and what do you think, the call was disconnected again!!! Oh, and you can never get to talk to a supervisor, since they are always "away from their desk" and they refuse to give you their phone extension.

Whatever you do, do NOT do business with these crooks!

Won't honor promises/services- Can't make changes to site
WARNING! Do not use HIT web design for anything!!! They give you a good rate upfront and refuse to honor their promises and services. BUYER BEWARE!! Even after filling a BBB complaint, they still will not honor the services I paid for! I paid over $2000 for a database website, and was promised I could make changes with their web center. I even have emails from the designer stating I can make these changes as she was asking me to hurry and approve her work. Once the database was complete, the pages were changed to PHP and I now can not make one simple change. HIT now wants to charge me $2500-$3000 to make it so I can make changes. To make it worse... they charge $39.99 for hosting for 1 year, (you have to pay this to get the upfront cheap rate on the site) and they promise this includes design time... but, when I asked them to make the changes to my site, they refuse to honor the 15 hr of design time (telling me it is not for PHP) and want to charge me hundreds of dollars to make the changes.

I have been battling with them over this issue since Nov 09! and after filing a BBB complaint, they still will not honor what they promised. I am not looking for a new hosting co/PHP programmer. My website is www.mypromatch.com. Please contact me if you know a good reputable programmer!!!

Won't give me a refund
OH MY, , , Where do I start? I hired them to do a website for me and after not being contacted for 11 days after I paid 1/2 up front, I called them and asked them what the status of the site was. I had to do all of the work as in, , begging for a web designer to start, product entry, blog etc.
I was assured that it would be a great site. Well, guess what? The web designer Chelsea Oldham made a mock up page for me to look at, , it was cute, but very distorted. I designed my OWN logo, sent it to them, and they couldn't ever seem to work on my site ever again. I was promised my website by two weeks., , , well, a month later, they tried to charge me the second half of the full amt. Little did they know is that I changed my bank account#. LOL, , , boy, , they sure did have the time to call me to ask why they couldn't get the money out. I also purchased a blog and NO work was ever done on that. I cancelled after a month of hiring them and now they say that there is no refund. I spent 895.00 of my money, , for nothing. Carlos Kidman is the (Senior Customer Service Agent), don't even mess with talking to him, , , he is one slippery eel! I have filed a complaint with the BBB and with the Attorney General of Utah about this company. Buyer Beware, , , this is not a reputable company. I am going to bring them back to Illinois to sue them. CARLOS KIDMAN told me that I would have to come to Utah to sue them, , , sorry Carlos, you will soon be seeing the cornfields of Illinois!! Attached is the crappy job, , , wow... WARNING, , , please stay away from HIT, , , they will HIT your bank account and give you nothing in return.

No Refund
I purchased website development services from Hit Web Design in Dec 2009 and paid in full $300. In Jan 2010 after taking with one of their "account reps" I decided to cancel the serivce because of the requirement that you must host with them for one year. this was not disclosed previously. Well I was told that a refund will take 6 - 8 weeks (why???) and it isw now May 2010 and I am still waiting for my refund.

What is the issue with this company? Why does it take 3 months or more to refund $300???

failed to deliver
We are in the midst of the worst business relationship we have ever entered in to. On December 19, 2009, we paid HIT Web Design $2, 800 of a $5, 600 estimate to provide us with a website for a new product. We were told by the salesman, Nathan Golden, that it would take about 60 days. In arranging the coordination of the product rollout, we allowed 90 days for web development. It is now almost May, 2010, and there is no website in sight. Why? I have no idea, but I can offer these experiences to you.

1. I have been assigned 5 account managers in less than 5 months. The current manager, Ryan Sneed, has never logged into FundElert to see what is going on, and he has never replied to any of my emails or phone calls.
2. Our site has been broken down into 6 tasks, with a different person assigned to each task - text writing, database development, page layout, integration and flash development. After each task is signed off as complete, don't hold your breath waiting for the next task to be assigned to someone.
3. Overall, I can say that customer service is responsive by sympathizing with us and putting us on to someone who can help; however, after an initial conversation with that person, they cannot be counted on, and they do not return phone calls or emails.
4. Getting through to HIT management is impossible. They are better insulated than the worst third world dictators.

In 40 years of business, I can honestly and accurately say that deciding to hire HIT was one of the worst decisions we have made. I suggest HIT change their name one more time - HIT need another letter in it, preferably right in front of the H.

poor business practices
I purchased web site hosting and design from HIT in August of 2009 and then was foolish enough to also purchase some "add-ons" from them as well. It has been the most disappointing and frustrating experience of my life. I would never recommend this company to anyone. They are impossible to do business with and certainly have no concern for customer satisfaction. Stay away from them at all costs.
That being said, I do have a “functioning” web site, but getting it done was horrible, and there are still issues that have not been resolved. My designer did a good job of taking what I gave her and giving me a very nice looking web site, but some of the things that need to be fixed couldn't be "tested" before the web site was live or needed to be done after other pieces were put in place. Unfortunately, once it's live everything costs more and more and more money to "fix" even if the problem is related to poor workmanship on their part or things that are truly “broken” when tested after the site is live. They make you submit (and pay for) an update to get anything at all done, and then when the fixes you paid for don't get done right, you have to pay more and more and more to try to get them to fix their fixes, and on and on and on.
They don’t communicate with each other internally. When they say there is a “team” working on your web site, what they really mean is that there are several VERY independently working individuals working on your website. They definitely work in silos (and that’s true when it comes to customer service as well – I have heard “you’ll have to contact ……” so many times my head is spinning). Things that should have been addressed as additional pieces were put in place were never done because they didn’t communicate internally and they didn’t contact me to get input, so they don’t build on existing framework. They just slap it in and send you and e-mail (if you’re lucky).
They apparently take no “pride” in the work they do either, because they don’t test internally or review the results of their work before they call it complete. And they are either very slow to respond, or they don’t respond at all (even the CEO, to whom I have been referred since no one else can, or will help me at this point, has not responded to my requests).
The add-ons I purchased don't work correctly either, and they have done nothing but pass me around from one person or group to another rather than address the issues and get them fixed. I've talked to numerous people over a long period of time and am still working to try to get things fixed and get my money back for what doesn't work. I’m up to the CEO level now, and he or she did not respond to my initial request for assistance. I have my doubts as to whether I will get a response to a second request.

Can't chnage my domain name or edit my site
I am trying to get HIT to SIMPLY change my domain name. PAid $50 to get it done. Total incompetence. Can't edit my site either. I have to send it to them.
What I really want to find out is if anyone has been succesuful ingetting any kind of a refund. I essential paid $800 for what I could have hire the votech school kid to do for $50 or $100. If anyone has success in obtaining a refund I would like to know how. I can't even get a phone call from them. Joe [email protected]

Communication and poor technical services
Customer technical service staff does not respond to calls, e-mails 0r return calls or e-mails concerning website problems. Your call is answered by machine and it is transferred to the desired department where you get a message that a technician will be with you shortly and you wait and about 30 minutes later you are asked to leave a message and they will call back . You rarely ever receive a return call.

If you get through it is usually after their regular business hours (you called their 24/7 service) They are unable to provide and site problems, so you are told to contact them during regular business hours and the whole cycle starts over. The complaint is just another fail to deliver on their advertised services.
