illegal charges on credit card
We purchased a movie, "The Gnove-Mobile" from them for 3.77, plus 2.99 in shipping. Total= $6.76
The purchase was made online and when asked if we wanted to sign up for a "Membership", or a "Trial Offer" -we said no.
But this business charged my credit card for the member charge for the month of September, October, November and December at $19.95 per month. When I realize the charge on my credit card statement was not legit- I called them. A woman "Migs" in the Philiphines represented the company and said that a refund would be put on my card, and she would cancel the membership. That was on Nov. 11th, 2009 and the email confirmation number she gave was #9952252. I was still upset at that point because she was 'canceling' a membership which I clearly did not sign up for in the first place.
I found out that they continue to charge my credit card the $19.95 each month anyway. I called the credit card office and they said they would look into the charges. They put a hold on two months worth of charges in question. Currently the charges are in 'investigation' process with them. I also call Hot Movies again. It was a phone message system, and I was given a choice to 'cancel' the membership through their phone system. Tried that many times, took about 10 minutes or more of my time at each try and the phone system would not complete the cancellation. So I tried the other option on their phone system, which was to wait for a live rep. The phone system would said, "We are experiencing an unusually high calling volume. You are caller number 18 and will be taken in the order recieved". Then you would wait on the phone till you were finally caller number "1' and the call would then be disconnected. This happen many times that I tried and each try cost me 20 minutes of my time.

membership fraud
Buy anything from this company and they will use your credit card to deduct a monthly "membership fee" of $19.95. As far as I can tell, this is not disclosed in anyway during your online purchase or checkout. You can call and cancel "your membership", but whether you will see a refund is debatable. Fortunately MasterCard seemed quite willing to credit back these unauthorized charges. Caveat emptor!

Stole Money From My Account
They took my husband and myself for $24.11 for several months. Why such an odd amount. We never ordered anything but I just called and they had us in their system. Said that they did cancel us but we will see. Bastards!

Illegal deduction from checking account
I am getting sick of this shit. You keep taking $19.95 out of my checking account every month when I haven't ordered anything. I want it stopped right now. Also, I want to cancel my membership as of now. You guys are just a bunch of rip-offs.

unauthorized deduction from my checking account
A payment of $9.95 was withdrawn from my personal checking account. I have never heard of this company, so I did a web search and found that there have been many illegal deductions from a lot of other people. I want my money returned to my checking account.

Fraudulent Charges
Since June 09, I have noticed charges from HMS Movies being charged at the rate of $19.95 per month to my Amex Gold Card. Initially I thought the charges were for movies that I had ordered but had not received (back-ordered). I then remembered that in July 09, I had cancelled my order for the movie. Today (21 Oct. 09) I called the HMS Movies phone number (866-566-8434) and talked with one of the customer service reps (Mr. June Cadiente). He toled me that this is a service that I had subscribed to back in June after an initial "trial period, " and it entitled me to receive movies of my choice at a discount rate. I explained to him that I did not subscribe to the service, there was no prior notification of continuing charges, and that I felt that I was entitled to a refund. Mr. Cadiente agreed to immediately cancel my "subscription, " and credit my Amex account for the charges ammounting to $79.80, since June 2009. I have contacted American Express and talked with a rep. who has agreed to flag my account for these charges and monitor the account to see if HMS Movies actually do credit my account for the money they stole from me. If the charges are not refunded, Amex will persue the matter and remove the charges from my account.
Obviously this is a scam and a ripoff for services NOT rendered to a "subscriber" who has never requested OR agreed, up-front, to pay for. I encourage everyone who has been the subject of this ripoff to contact HMS Movies, and to notify them of your displeasure, and request immeduiate cancelation and a full refund. IMPORTANT: Then contact your credit card service(s) and notify them as well, because if they DO NOT know about it, you are still in the bucket for the charges.

Fraudulent charges
I realized there were reoccurring charges to my home equity line beginning in June, $12 per month. I have made no online purchases that would allow this transaction to take place. I cannot find any valid phone numbers to contact HMS either, so that I may follow-up and dispute these charges. I do not regularly check my equity line as we use this only for home renovations etc. Anyone know how to contact these people???

monthly charge added after cancelled unwanted membership
I ordered a movie from HMS Movies and was signed up for a monthly fee of $19.95 for their "CLUB".
I called the day I received my credit card statement (08/07/09) and they said they would cancel
the "membership". Today (10/05/09) I received my credit card statement and I was billed $19.95
again on (09/07/09).
