Illegal Charges
WE ALL NEED TO FILE WITH OUR CREDIT CARDS, BANKS, AND THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU!!! I ALREADY DID.

I ordered a movie online from this company back in May 2009. I did read the fine print and the terms of use for the company online. Much to my surprise, theyenrolled me in a membership. I never agreed to this, nor to the automatic payment deduction from my credit card. When I noticed the charges, I called their hotline. The representative gave me the name Freddie Bascua, which I am sure is fake, and refused to give me an employee number or any other way to identify her. She claimed her supervisors name was Paolo Tajon. I was on the phone for an hour! She refused to give me a refund and stated I purchased the membership when I purchased the movie. I did not, as stated above. She refused to let me speak to a manager or supervisor claiming that they were on another line with another customer. She also stated that they would just tell me the same thing she stated. When I threatened legal action she proceeded to give me one month's refund but nothing more. She still refused to let me speak to anyone else. After all this time, about an hour, I gave up. I only have a cell phone so it was costing me precious minutes, not to mention my personal time!! This company has been complained about numerous times on complaintsboard.com and on ripoffreport.com. There was even an option on the checkout screen to buy without membership, which I did check, but still received charges.

Website Fraud
I purchased a movie from HMS Movie online for $6.23. I recieved it with in 6 days. Then when my credit card bill came they charged me the $6.23 plus another charge of $19.95. I called and complained. They said I sign up for a movie membership. I said I did not and their website must have automaticly enrolled me in this membership with out my permission. He them told me the time period to cancel my membership is up and I had to pay the $19.95. It had only been 2 weeks since I purchased the movie???? He argued with me until I asked for a supervisor. He told me she was currently bust. I began to yell into the phone that I was being scammed by them. He then put me on hold for 2 minutes. When he returned he told me the $19.95 was being put back on my card and my membership was cancelled. He then gave me a cancellation #.

Bank Deductions
HMS got me also for $19.95. I got my money back. Here is how. I called ant talked to some woman who read me the part about the 3 day free trial and the membership. I got nowhere with her, just another voice doing her job I guess. The I wrote to them through e-mail and told them that they had 48 hours to return my money or I was going the the Attorney General of Minnesota, Lori Swanson, to file a complaint. I got a reply e-mail stating the same part of the membership details the voice had told me and they returned my money as a courtesy. Make sure you look up the Attorney Generals name in your state before sending in the e-mail. It looks way more threatening that way. Good Luck

Rip off company
I just discovered that HMS Movies has been charging my credit card account for the past four months for some sort of membership fee for which I have never signed up. I do not know who this company is and have never done business with them as far as I know. I have no idea how they got my account number. Someone should get law enforcement involved as I see numerous complaints against this company for the same violation.

FRAUD
Me and My husband were googleing a movie to buy and this movie company came upand he movie was only 3.95 and then after the same day i bought it a charge of 19.95 was charge to my acct. The i seen aother charge a month later there was a nother charge of 19.95 was showing, This is very crazy on the web page i got that the movie said nothing about a membership or any other charges.This is a PROBLEM these people have nothing to say about it we need justice on these people!!!

FRAUDULANT CHARGE
On July 17, 2009 I purchased from Hot Movie Sale, the Baby Einstein -
Baby Wordsworth DVD, order #320100 for $11.20. On July 19, 2009
this company charged my credit card for another $19.95 purchase.
I did not make this purchase, nor did I authorize it. I am contacting my
credit card company to report this fraudulent charge.

illegal deductions
I went online to find a movie I can't find in stores for my daughters birthday. I found it at HMS movies I looked on my credit card statements online & found that they had deducted $12 per month extra from my credit card. Apparently they have hidden somewhere on their website that you are joining a membership with them. I only agreed to a 1 time payment of $17 for 2 movies I ordered for her birthday & was unaware there was a membership with them. I called to get a refund from the charges I was unaware of they refused to give me a refund so they transfered me to a supposed "corporate agent " & that nigger was extremely rude with no customer service refusing to give me my money back that I was unaware was coming out monthly. This company is a horrible business. I would never do business with them again. I ended up having to call the disputes department with my credit card company for being charged a total of $48 extra for movies I was never receiving because these assholes didnt work with me. Funny thing the rep said he is being empathetic. I dont need his goddamn empathy I need my $48 extra dollars you took from me monthly. Im a single mother of 2 kids...granted yes it is a recession it's also stealing when you dont tell people about the membership & refuse to give them back their money...shows how much this company is doing (bad) if they cant afford to give back money they took from people that was unauthorized. Thanks for nothing. Jerks!!!

Fraudulent charges
I wanted to get my children an Elmo DVD that we had been borrowing from the library for going on a month. I found it the cheapest on Amazon.com. I was redirected to Hot Movie Sales' website and went through all the steps of ordering. I did not get a confirmation email or any notification that my sale had even gone through. I called the company 3 days later and talked to a very RUDE representative, who told me that my sale had indeed gone through, and was in the process of being shipped. He did not say anything about me being enrolled into any type of membership or having any "special" privileges. If I had known, I could have cancelled that day and not been charged the $19.95. I received the DVD almost 3 weeks later, with no billing statement or anything of the sort. I called the company as soon as I found the charge on my debit card and again, they were very RUDE and did not explain anything to me about this so-called "membership". I basically just paid almost $30.00 for a 30 minute Sesame Street Video! RIDICULOUS!!!

Unauthorized charge
Ordered DVD of "All Creatures Great and Small" from this company, it arrived without any invoice, then on my credit card statement there was a correct charge for the DVD and an unexplained $19.95 charge. I see from other complaints this is a "membership fee" which was certainly not disclosed in the ad for the DVD. I called Mastercard to dispute the charge and the guy said he had taken numerous calls from people with the same complaint about HMS Movies.
