Great prices, but don't count on them shipping you something that works
Great prices, but don't count on them shipping you something that WORKS! They shipped me 2 remote control boats and neither worked. When I spoke with their technical support rep they said "oh that is a known issue, send the boats back and I will fix them" However when I went to send them back to be fixed they refused to do anything because it was over 30 days. Spend a little more and get a product that works!!

Poor customer service, ridiculous
I ordered an airsoft gun from hobbytron.com on March 2, 2011. It is now April 11 and I have recieved no item and no help. I have sent multiple e-mails and have placed multiple phone calls to this company. I get the same response over and over again, it will be shipped soon, ya whatever. I did however recieve an e-mail from them about two weeks ago telling me that my item is now on backorder and will ship between 10-15 business days.Guess what, its still on backorder. I have talked to them over the phone and frankly, their customer service is TERRIBLE!! They refuse to cancel my order and refund my money. I am now going through my financial institution and filing a complaint. My bank requires a 6 week waiting period, and after that if I still haven't recieved my goods I will be refunded my money and the bank will take care of the rest, with no hassle! Two more days and I will have my $220 given back to me and I won't ever have to deal with this bull sh** company ever again. DO NOT EVER ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY! Let me repeat, NEVER UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES ORDER FROM THESE SCAM ARTISTS!

I regret that I placed an order with this company
Quick and simple: Like others who also reviewed this site, I regret that I placed an order with this company. I ordered an air soft gun which arrived in a reasonable amount of time, but the gun did not work from the start. The same day the inoperative gun arrived I started the process of making a return. That was just shy of a month ago and I have yet to receive any satisfaction with a new gun or a credit to my account. I have made three calls to the company, been on hold very long times, and have received three empty promises. This is taking a great deal of time and delivering plenty of frustration. Although the lady who has answered my calls seems very nice, she is merely a small cog in a dysfunctional company.

Do not purchase anything from the hobbytron.com website. I purchased radio-controlled electric truck and had it sent to my grandson. When he received it, the trucks wheels were broken inside the box (not due to delivery). My daughter mailed the truck back to Hobbytron the next day and they now have the defective truck. That was two months ago. They have been called numerous times to no avail. Most of the time they do not answer or say to call back during business hours (this is the middle of a weekday) . Their chat line is always "offline".
I should have checked this website out. They have hundreds of complaints and the Better Business Bureau gave them an F rating. My only alternative now is to go through my credit card company to see what they can do get my money back. Also, read their policy. They state if you go through your credit card company, they will charge you $50. Their policy is totally hostile to the consumer and the company should be shut down.

Missing Items, Poor customer service
I placed an order for my 2 sons, and it took at least 4 days to ship. Upon arrival, all items of our order were not in the box but 1 airsoft gun. I called the phone number listed and repeatedly got a voicemail saying either they were closed or that they were assisting other customers. I left 2 messages, and no one called me back. I tried to get assistance online but when entering what the problem with our order was, I received a reply telling me to call their number. FINALLY after trying to call over 20 times I reached a person. They had to visit with the warehouse to see if what I was saying could possibly be true...they had to weigh the box, etc. So, they said of course the items did not ship and they would get them out right away. So, when the second box arrived, my son was STILL missing an airsoft pistol, one of two that were ordered. I called, and the woman said she would call me back in an hour, which she did not. So I called again, and she said she still hadn't visited with the warehouse manager and would call me back. She did after 15 minutes, and told me that unfortunately there was nothing they could do because the box they weighed weighed the same as amount as what our package went out at. I told her, look, the gun is $3.50. I am not lying about $3.50. My son paid for these items himself out of his allowance, and he wants the gun. If I was trying to rip you off I'd say we didn't get a $19.99 gun he ordered. She said again, there was nothing they can do, because it had to be in the box. I said I wanted the manager, she placed me on hold and came back on and told me she told the manager herself what was going on and that the manager said the same thing-there was nothing they could do because it had to be in the box. I told her they screwed up my order twice and they needed to get their s**t together. Right then the manager came on the line and said they will credit me the $3.50. Also, the items my boys received are CRAP. They played with them for litteraly 5 minutes and they all broke. This company is a rip off. The items are not worth the money and the customer service leaves a lot to be desired. DON"T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY ON HOBBYTRON.COM

Horrible
A terrible company. They charged my card for a few hundred dollars, then sent me a message saying that some of the items were not in stock. Then they said they would credit back my card and send the items in stock, which would have been fine but after a week nothing happened (I paid extra for 2 day shipping).
I called, hard to get through, got ahold of a rep who was terrible, kept skirting the issue, I asked to speak to a supervisor, she said OK AND HUNG UP ON ME. Still no items ever shipped, no credit back. I traced the order on the website, it was a totally wrong order. After lots of emails, phone calls these people lied to me and took a few hundred bucks from me. I will be tracking this through the credit card vendor that they use, I am so furious. I ordered items for Christmas on 6 DEC, paid for 2 day shipping and they totally ripped me off. They are horrible people with low morals and I urge anyone reading this to never order anything from them. I lived in CA I would love to go to the headquarters and camp out just for the point of it.

defective RC Boat
I purchase a $70 RC boat for these rip offs, it came defective, it would not even run for 5 minutes with a full charge. They said they don't warranty anything that was taken out of the box. How do you charge the battery and test run the boat with taking it out of the box? They have no return email and no toll free number. This company should be closed down.

Customer service/Fraudulent charge
Avoid this company at all costs. All their products are available elsewhere.
I ordered an electronics kit 5/31/09, and was asked via email to contact Hobbytron.com before the order could be shipped. Apparently there was some problem with my credit card. Reasonable request. BUT no one answers the phone at Hobbytron. During their office hours, one may leave a message, but NO ONE returns calls.
I cancelled the order 6/4/09, as we obviously couldn't come to terms (no communication from Hobbytron at all.) They shipped the order. Hobbytron shipped the order as soon as I cancelled the order. HEaven forbid they should call and talk to me.
I refused delivery from UPS, after multiple e-mails, phone calls and more messages left for Hobbytron. Still no phone calls back.
I have since reordered the products I needed directly from the manufacturer, for exactly the same price, using the same credit card, and had my items within a week.
Hobbytron needs to get a clue. Just return your phone calls, folks.

Customer Service/Products are a RIPOFF
Sent broken RC helicopter...wanted me to ship back at my expense (getting hold of them at all took weeks!)...after reviewing huge numbers of complaints from others, I chose not to return the helicopter fearing that I would never get it back again. I figured I could at least work on it to repair it myself (which eventually I was able to do). The helicopter I received was pure crap...cheap construction and design. I decided to file formal complaints with PayPal, Visa, Discover and sent a formal complaint to the California Attorney General. After 3 months, I received a formal notice from the Attorney General that they could NOT get any response from Hobbytron!!! PayPal couldn't help either because the product was received, although broken. I spoke to a representative there who passed it along to the Fraud department at PayPal. After reviewing the number of complaints received from Hobbytron, she indicated that this did look like a company engaged in fraudulent transactions. Hobbytron was also cited in the past for selling unlicensed radio transmitters.
This company is plain bad news!!! Stay away from them unless you want to receive crap products or love to throw your money down the toilet!
