I booked a room at the Holiday Inn Express in Schaumburg, IL for 3 nights over Memorial weekend. I call it a staycation because I live 5 miles from the location. On the 2nd night when I returned frome my day I was locked out of my room. The key wouldn't work. The front desk made me 4 sets of keys, taking 4 trips to the front desk and back to the 6th floor. Then on the 3rd afternoon when I returned I once again couldn't get into the room. I waited in the hallway for 45 mintues while the maintenance man replaced the door lock. Later that night when I took my dog for her last potty of the evening I was once again locked out. It was 10PM at night and I had no shoes on and all my belonging were locked in the room. The front desk clerk (who made me 4 sets of keys the night before) accused me of shutting the door incorrectly and locking myself out of the room. She gave me no options to get back into the room, she just kept shrugging her shoulders at me and saying no one was on site and I did it to myself. I went back to the room with my dog praying to God the entire way to the room. I put the key in the lock and the door opened. I packed my things and checked out. The women said she was going to charge me for all 3 nights because I was there after check out time. There was obviously no need for me to respond to this woman. The General Managers business card was on the front desk so I took one and went home.
