Fails to resolve

In the summer of 2008 we purchased a home from DR Horton. One pitch that DR Horton used was that this home only had one neighbor. The open space next to the house was going to be landscaped with grass, shrubs, and trees. It is now March of 2010 and the open space is still not landscaped. Despite numerous calls and emails DR Horton has not fulfilled their promise and we are stuck next to an eye sore. A fellow neighbor living two streets down from us also lives across from an open lot and is frustrated with the same issue. He was told he had a prime location for buying as the open space would be landscaped and DR Horton failed him as well and still has not landscaped that area.

In addition, the fence that encloses our backyard fell over a month after we moved in. And it also took them over 6 months to repair a roofing issue that was within the warranty. I would suggest not buying from this company as they take no pride in their business and their integrity is questionable.

Bad service

Nicholls Construction, is a builder that was used to finish a Pre-Fabricated home that was built by North American Housing Corporation. This builder was a builder that was on their recommended builders list. The builder is located out of Front Royal Va. The company performed Sub Standard work when completing the Home build & would not return to repair sub standard Foundation problems. Roof leaks (Upper Part of house was not sealed externally to the lower part of the house). North American Housing does not stand behind their recommended builders & does not warranty any losses caused by their recommended builders. The catch is that only their recommended builders can finish the homes & No one else can purchase a home from them. Their recommended builders are the only one that can provide warranty work & the recommended builders are not held accountable to return for warranty work.

Beware that you may never be able to get the recommended builder or North American Housing to honor a warranty.
