11 June 2008: They arrived late; the geyser was damaged and they had to send for another; the driver got lost; the work was concluded in the dark; I missed my 5.30 car service drop off; I was billed for 17m copper cable not used; the water was never hot; I was fobbed off; I was told that I was expecting too much of the cylinders; I complained regularly but no-one responded; the bills for the additional cable, however, arrived relentlessly.
May 2009: The geyser started leaking through the bedroom ceiling; the call out was only guaranteed after the prospect of their having to replace both ceiling and wood flooring was thrown into the conversation. Finally a competent installer named Rodney Matthews arrived to do damage control. The bottom line: a valve had been incorrectly installed, the pump was in the wrong position and one of the cylinders was not even connected. ERGO - I had not had solar power for a FULL YEAR. Small wonder the water was never hot enough!
Few of the people I dealt with still work there - including Rodney. Fortunately I kept his cell number and today he came out to sort out yet another glitch. When I receive the invoice I will submit the Company's name.
