Washington Mutual/Chase called me after 8PM about a missed payment, and when advised that I pulled up the endorsed and cleared check online that was paid to WAMU, they said they could not help and I would have to call customer service. They refused to let me talk to a supervisor, saying he was "busy."
I called customer service and advised them that the payment had been made and I can provide a pdf of the cleared check on time. They said they would start an investigation. I offered to email a pdf of the endorsed check so they could track it but she said she couldn't do that.
Tonight, they called again. An automated call put me on HOLD to begin with...and after a short while, I live person came on telling me I had an overdue payment. I explained AGAIN that it was not overdue and had been paid. I explained the phone call a few days ago. I explained that I contacted customer service and told they were researching it AND I offered to email a pdf of the front and back of the check to prove it had cleared my bank in a timely manner. She stated she was just the collections department and couldn't do anything about it.
Once I am done or can transfer my loan, I will never do business WAMU/Chase again. I have excellent credit, have never been late on my payments and this is totally unacceptable.
WAMU/Chase has provided probably the worst customer service I have ever experienced and then will not take steps resolve THEIR error with a check that is clearly endorsed on the back to WAMU and has been paid and cleared my bank prior to the due date, and in an amount that was greater than the minimum as it always has been.
