We ordered a large amount of furniture at the end of February/beginning of March 2008. We still do not have all of our furniture in good condition; now at the end of July.
We are on couch #3 due to very obvious defects like a rip on the bottom of one and a weird lump on another. We just got our chaise lounge that was ordered 5 months ago and multiple buttons on the fabric are loose.
They went so far as to try to give us a display model of a sofa table. Quite obviously a display model when you leave the hang tag underneath. When they finally came to replace it, they had a damaged one. And the best part is that the delivery guy was going to try to somehow combine the two to make one nice table. No way. We paid good money for this furniture. We still have the display model- waiting for a good one. I guess I'm confused as to why you would not check the replacement table before delivery if you already knew the customer knows about your display model scam.
We ordered a nightstand that also had to be sent back because finish was coming off. We have nightstand #2 that I am considering sending back as well because the finish (which now is probably paint or laminate judging from some other blogs I read) is coming off of this one too. In weird spots; not where something would sit or rub.
Now we find a new charge on our statement from them & they tell us they bill as they deliver. Really? Because we have paid for everything right from day one before it was delivered- I have the statement to prove it. Except apparently for this chaise lounge that is now magically on its own pay plan.
Another thing about this chaise lounge- the really high quality company Home does business with has apparently changed owners 3 times. We were given so many estimated delivery dates; unbelievable.
When we first had the issue with the couch, I thought it could just be a fluke or the company that makes it, but our furniture has come from at least 3 companies Home does business with. There is absolutely no excuse for this.
We will never do business with them again. And every time someone I know is going to be shopping for furniture, I have to tell them to stay away from Home Furniture. Which I am sure they will after they hear this nightmare.
