poor service
i have lodged a claim over three weeks ago. two days later i recieved an sms to go ahead with the cliam. i asked the contractor to go ahead. some days later i called absa again only to be told to resend the documents. i did so. i was then told they would send their own contractor so i stoped my contractor. i then waited another week with no comunication eventualy after another attemped break in i had my contractor fix the electric fence on a weekend. i have been calling for a week now to get the contractor paid. i have lodged two complaints and still no one has contacted me as they said they would. i have left messages for tella grobbler who i was told is the person to sort this out. i have spent an average of two hours per day on the phone two sort this out. currently i have been on the phone for forty minutes and keep getting transfered then cut of.

Unfair contract
This is posted by way of a warning to anyone tempted to take out home insurance from Swinton Insurance company... Let the buyer beware! The facts are as follows. Basically having agreed a quotation and set up a direct debit account I was astonished to read the 'small print' in their terms and conditions when it arrived through the post. By way of summary - their were several points of concern. The fact that they feel it necessary to levy a hefty 32.1 percent interes rate on the premium due to my having taken the direct debit payment option is extremely unfair. Every other company with which I have ever dealt sees this as a plus because they are automatically guaranteed regular payments and it is actually considered to be a cause for discount with Utility companies because it is less expensive for them...however contrary to everyone elses opinion Swintons clearly view it as a liability! Not only that but their contract also reserves the right for them to increase it as they deem necessary without any explanation or recourse...Hmmm very open ended - and clearly open to abuse. You may as well give them a blank cheque! It also was not good consumer relations on the part of the form where you are required to put your signature as a...'debtor'. Quote unquote. How quaint!! This is more than a little insulting for someone who is giving them their business in a competitive market place in order for them to make a profit from you... Such a strange definition of a debtor - I cannot recall seeing that on Wikipedia! The inclusion of a £12 cancellation fee also being included before the agreement is even signed is a I feel a matter for the FSA. I appreciate that a verbal agreement of a sort was made by telephone but that still does not obligate anyone to sign such a biased and contractually unfair document when it finally arrives. Which is what I have decided not to do and I will be cancelling my direct debit ASAP. I await Swintons response however my impression of them is less than favourable to say the least so a fair or positive response is not expected. My business will be taken elsewhere - preferably to a company that is grounded in the 21st Century not the Victorian era!

Home Insurance claim
Wish I had found this site before insuring my home with Travelers. What they do amounts to running a scam on the public!
Insured with them in 2003 and after 41 years of home ownership had to file my first claim due to hail damage to a fairly new roof. It's been months and I cannot get a roofer to do the job anywhere near the price Travelers will reimburse. They won't cover some of the areas of damage and recommend companies to me that are so poorly rated by the BBB that I refuse to deal with them. No wonder the top executives get such huge salaries. We pay high premiums thinking we are buying coverage in case there is an event and Travelers rips you off by NOT covering what you have paid the premiuns on. No one wants to ever file a claim, but it is truly disgusting that when your home is hit with damage, you get worse crap from Traveler's Insurance Company which blatanly rips you off by low balling estimates and considering 1/10 a package for roofing squares, even though you have to pay for the full square, after gouging you with taking the preiums for years! It's likely to cost me attorney fees to get the coverage I've already paid for, as I've had six quotes which exceed Traveler's adjustor's estimates, and the guy that came today won't even bother with an estimate after seeing what the claims adjustor worked up.
If you are searching for an insurance company, AVOID Travelers Insurance in case you should ever have a claim!

non settlement of claim
I have taken home insurance with Aviva (Norwich Union) since 1 year for building and contents. Recently I had my LCD tv installed on the wall by a trade man, but the television fell off the wall leaving a big damage to the wall. I made contacts with the trade man but once he came to know about his work he is not responding to my calls. So I have contacted my insurance company to help with completion of the work as it left big defect on the wall. It is almost more than 2 months since i have requested the work. They have given subcontracted 2 more workers and asking me call between those two workers and when i call the subworkers they are saying i have to contact Aviva as they have to authorize the claim, and when i went back to Aviva they are asking me call the subworkers again. I am very unhappy with how the claim is being dealt.
I need to take it further as it is unacceptable how they treat the policy holders.
I would appreciate if you can help some useful.
